Overture Buys AltaVista

Overture provides paid listings to Yahoo, who gets their main search results from Google.  What could this mean for the future?  It is too soon to tell.  Yahoo and others may now see Overture as a competitor.  Read this excellent article by Search Engine Watch.

Overture Buys FAST/All the Web

Overture wasn't done when it purchased AltaVista.  It has now purchased one of Google's rivals, FAST/All the Web.
