23. Event Reminder Weiland / Emporium Plus

Customers can enter event reminder dates in your Miva Merchant store and will be notified via email when that date arrives.

Features: (some features are only in the compiled version)
- Optionally can require customers to login before using
- Individual reminder entry screen configurable in admin
- Button to display form can be placed in various positions
- Custom template reminder entry form can be included during checkout
- Admin access to existing reminders by email address
- Customers can list their own reminders when logged in
- Customers can remove their reminders if they were logged in when saved

Store owners can vary the button text/image and input form look through the module admin interface. They can also optionally limit the use of the reminder system to only those who are logged in.

You can purge and/or list all reminders related to a specific email address through admin.

If a customer is logged in and they select the reminder input form, there is a link displayed which will allow them to list all of the reminders they have put into the system for their email address.

New features in the compiled version. Customers, who were logged in when they added their reminders, can go back later and delete those reminders. You can add a form at the bottom of the checkout shipping - payment selection screen to allow customers to enter their reminder. The checkout screen form can be customized in admin as it is a template. Many customers are making purchases as a gift, so entering a reminder at checkout makes it easy for them to record a reminder for next year's gift.

24. Link Master Luray / Design Extend

This module lets you create links from all the products in your store to static pages in order to display the product information. The admin interface lets you tell Miva Merchant on which screens to display the links.

For example, on a category screen, the link to the product by default goes to the product page. With Link Master, you can opt for it instead to go to an HTML page. The HTML page must be in a specific directory on the server and must be named the same as the product code. Links can be set to go to that page from any of the Miva Merchant screens which link to products.

This module uses an IF statement, so the link will only go to that HTML page IF that file exists.

26. Talk Back Chat Program Emporium Plus / Miva Central

Chat with your customers in a live session online. If you have our Show Baskets module (version 4.59 or newer) you can identify and open a chat session for a specific basket. Then with the Talk Back module, the customer can read and respond in that open chat session. Both the Show Baskets and Talk Back modules are required in order to transmit messages from the store admin to the customer in a chat session.

You can use a module token to display a "Chat" button for the customer to hail store staff. When they click the button an email is sent to your predetermined email address you use to notify staff that there is someone in the store who wants to chat live.

The store staff can open the session by posting a first message. Once the store begins the dialog, an image or text can be displayed on the storefront (using a token) which invites the customer to chat. If they click the invitation, their chat window will popup. The store and customer can then chat live.

The refresh rate is set by the module's configuration, as is the various buttons and text the customer sees.

Limitations: The module depends on the customer using cookies and that the cookie does not change each time the customer clicks on a new screen. The cookie (session ID) needs to remain with the customer as they shop in your Merchant store anyway or they would not be able to maintain items in their basket. The customer cannot have popups blocked and they must have javascript enabled.

Required companion modules:
1) You must have Show Baskets version 4.59 or newer in order to use this module.
2) OpenUI must be installed in the store.

  • function - Token provides a way to execute an external, compiled, MivaScript file (.mvc) located in the script directory, on the same server as Merchant installation. A Specific Function with parameters is used. Merchant Global, All_Settings, Settings, Module, Item and passed Parameter variables will be available to this function. An uncomiled MIVA Script file containing example Function is included with Module distribution. This function also contains an example Breadcrumb Navigation script which can be used on Category and Product Pages.
  • call - Token provides a way to call(read/execute) and render an external file located on any server, accessible through an HTTP call. Youc an also use this functionality to execute external script files. These files can be MIVA, PHP, ASP, FLASH, Perl, JAVA, CFM, etc..

At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed.
