Need to separate groups of categories in your category tree with an image but don't want it linked anywhere? Here is a cool jedi trick to do it without a module. Create a new category. Give it whatever category code you want such as separator1. For the category name, use the following:

You can put whatever image you want and increase or decrease the spacing above and below the image to suite your needs. Just make sure that the closing link tag is at the very beginning and the starting link tag is at the very end.
