1 Merchant & Empresa Diagnostics & Benchmarks truXoft / Miva Central
Each license of an MmDIAG module is bind to a single domain name. You need a separate license for each domain, or even for each subdomain. Because of the character of the module, used license keys cannot be reset or returned, and the domain name assigned to the license key cannot be modified. When you change the domain name, you will need a new license key. In some cases, when the secure pages reside on a different base domain than the main site, you will be able to run the tests only in one of the modes - the one where you run the test the first time after registering the license key. Also, using MmDIAG on a plain numeric IP address instead of the full domain name may lead to licensing problems. When the domain name does not yet resolve to the specified IP address at the time of the installation, the domain will not be associated with the license key and MmDIAG will continue to work only with the initial IP address. When accessing MmDIAG (Merchant Admin) through the domain name, changes of IP addresses are allowed though. The number of stores in Miva Merchant is not important though, since the module runs from Admin's main page regardless of the store selection. Displayed results would be practically identical for any store in a Miva Merchant mall. A single license per mall is sufficient. Important Privacy NoteMmDIAG transfers some of the test results (but far not all) to truXoft's server, where they are used in the Miva Host Ranking. No personal data, email addresses, names, or otherwise sensitive data are being transmitted (except of the domain name and IP address). The data transmission can be disabled in the standard and PRO versions, but not in an unregistered MmDIAG. If you do not wish that any test results are sent to truXoft, please do not use the module until you register a valid license key and disable the option in MmDIAG's configuration screen in the Store Utilities menu of Miva Merchant Admin. After the installation, truXoft's robot may contact MmDIAG irregularly (very few times per month) to obtain a new set of results for the Miva Host ranking. If you want to exclude your domain from the host ranking and want to deny access to the robot, you can disable it in the configuration of the module. Installation NoteMmDIAG may be installed with or without Miva Merchant. Although the standalone installation is possible and as easy as just dropping the file anywhere in the web area of your server, the preferable method is installing it through Miva Merchant Admin. Some tests of MmDIAG are possible only in the MM Admin and not available in the standalone version. Detailed installation instructions come in the readme.txt file shipped with the module. During the installation, all necessary truXoft libraries are downloaded and all truXoft modules become available in Admin's menus. For the best functionality of MmDIAG, you can enable the free version of the Data Doctor module in Store Utilities. MmDIAG is run from the Ultra Batch (aka Xadmin) control panel at the top of Miva Merchant's main page. All other truXoft modules can be either used in their free versions without restrictions, or they can be removed from Admin menus through truXoft System Configuration in Store Utilities. Ultra Batch cannot be removed, but the control panel can be minimized by clicking the respective icon in its top right corner, and maximized only when needed. None of the modules influences the functionality of your store in any way, and they do not interact with any other standard or 3rd party modules. Important note: The database editor in the PRO version was designed for advanced users who understand the basic structure of Miva Merchant databases. MmDbDOC allows you to edit the raw data, but makes no verification of the data you added, modified or removed. If multiple tables are in a relation, it is the user who has to insure to edit all related tables appropriately to avoid breaking the cross table links. Unqualified editing of the databases may corrupt the store. We highly recommend backing up the entire domain and store data before removing duplicate records (repair) or before editing the databases. truXoft bears absolutely no liability in case of loss of data, corrupted databases or a broken Miva Merchant store. If any such case should occur, please restore the original data from the backup.
After repairing or editing any database, you have to pack both domain and store data in Admin!
Installation instrucitons may be found in the readme.txt included in the distribution package. After registering your license key, in Ultra Batch (Xadmin) screen in the main frame of Miva Merchant Admin, click on the tab "databases", select the mode "database list" and click the OK button. Ultra Batch will show you the list of all pre-defined databases.
If a corrupted database with duplicate records is detected, the "Repair" button appears right in the line of the concerned database. By clicking it, you access the repair interface and see the first found set of duplicate records.

In case of manual repair, as described above in 1) and 2), you have to repeat the operation with each duplicate set individually. Normally, you should use the default mode of Ultra Batch hiding deleted records - select "standard" in the first small dropdown box in the right part of the Ultra Batch control panel. In case you use the mode "all", you'll have to navigate through the duplicate sets with the help of the navigation buttons right below the Ultra Batch control panel.
The navigation buttons can be used also when you want to preview all duplicate sets before starting to repair them. Please note that the filter expression (top left) and pagination (top right) of Ultra Batch have influence on the MmDbDOC output. When low numbers are selected in the pagination in sake of faster page loads, use the navigation buttons to proceed to the next page. It applies also for the database list, not only for the repair and edit interface of MmDbDOC.
Before starting to repair or edit databases with MmDbDOC, it is recommended to put the store into maintenance mode. Use the first button (the lock) in the Ultra Batch panel to close and re-open the store. We also highly recommend to back up the entire Miva Data directory containing the databases, before performing any operation on the data with MmDbDOC.
If you experience a runtime error in the store front or Admin, where the message speaks about a database index, copy the message, and after opening the mode "parse error" in the "databases" tab of Ultra Batch, paste the error into the displayed field. MmDbDOC will look up the databases and launch the repair interface.
In case you need to repair a database not listed, you can select the "3rd party dB" mode and enter the database and index paths manually to start the repair function.
Database viewer (demo and standard versions), or the database editor (PRO version) can be launched by clicking the requested database alias in the database list.
IMPORTANT: after repairing or editing any database, you have to pack both domain and store data in Admin!

Installation instrucitons may be found in the readme.txt included in the distribution package. After registering your license key, you can either use the "Product File Name Pattern" and upload the product files quickly with an FTP program, or you can upload individual product files through the "File Attachments" interface in the Product Details (Admin » Stores » 'your store' » Products » 'product xyz' » Email Attachments). You can combine both methods, fo course too - i.e. using the pattern for file names matching the product code (or another token or expression), and uploading individual files that do not match the pattern, through the Product Details.
You can use the module to attach the same file with every order (i.e. the license agreement) - in the MmATTACH » softgoods settings, put the file name instead of a variable/token expression into the "Product File Name Pattern".
We recommend using files of maximally up to several hundreds of kilobytes. Emailing huge files could cause serious delays during the checkout and common mailboxes are often limited in size and may refuse huge attachments. We also recommend avoiding executable files (*.exe, *.js, *.com,...) - many email clients and antivirus programs are set to block them. Use zipped archives instead.

Vladdy is not designed for running big applications like Miva Merchant, but rather for executing non-compiled Miva applets from within compiled scripts or executing simpler non-compiled programs on machines without Empresa, with just the VM.

Miva Merchant uses cookies (small files stored on the visitor's computer) for the identification of the visitor and for managing his/her session. When visitor's browser does not accept cookies from your website, the content of the basket may be lost when the customer clicks on the checkout button, opening the session in secure mode (SSL). Such visitors will not be able to complete the payment and will leave the store in most cases without even contacting you.
Browser Cookie Control and P3P
Modern browsers like the MSIE v6, depending on their configuration, automatically turn off cookies on sites that do not declare their privacy policies in so called P3P compact policy in HTTP headers. Declaring the P3P policies in the document or through a XML file is not sufficient, only the coded P3P compact policy is currently being recognized.
To stop loosing customers in Miva Merchant due to the lapse of P3P compact headers, the MmP3P module was developed. After installing the module and registering your license key, you can enter your P3P compact policy into its settings, and MmP3P will take care about serving them properly with every Merchant page.
P3P Privacy Policies
The default compact P3P policy of the MmP3P module matches a typical and generic Miva Merchant store, but the definitive setting must be customized to match your real privacy policies about collecting and handling user data and therefore you should generate the P3P policies with the help of one of available services and then enter the code into the MmP3P settings. Detailed information about P3P Privacy Policies, including FAQ, links to P3P validators, generators and consultancy services may be found at the W3C Consortium. Privacy Council is one of the sites offering free automated generator of Compact P3P policies.

Back to TopUpon the order completion the module creates a temporary directory with cryptic name (you can define the length of the random cryptic directory name), locks it with user name/password and copies there all ordered products or documents that are set up for download (or remote access - e.g. at courses or member restricted websites). Beyond the (optional) login/password, it allows an additional security with (optional) crosschecking of cookies, IP address, browser version and several other parameters. You can also set the account expiration time after which the directory will be automatically removed. All this runs with symbolic links, it means the original files or documents are stored out of the public area, in the Miva data directory and they are not transferred or copied physically. So for example if you have a software product or a document for download of 1MB and 100 active customers, it does not take 100MB of disk space, but still just 1MB - and additionally the account creation is much faster and less resource intensive than when copying whole files.
Notifications with the download links may be sent to the customer either immediately upon the purchase with a selected payment method (e.g. a credit card) or after approving the order manually from the Ultra Batch Report. If you do not own the Ultra Batch module, you can use the MmHTML (Merchant Notification Email module) instead of the MmHTMLc (Customer Confirmation Email module) and forward the received Merchant notification e-mail to the customer after approving the purchase.

Unlimited number of individual notifications may be defined and each vendor receives the notification only if a product associated with him is included. Products not assigned to the respective vendor are being filtered out.
Merchant users and owners often complain about the readability of the notification e-mail. They are not aware of the fact that classical e-mail protocol ( SMTP ) does not have any text formatting features. For these reasons, IT professionals use to set their mail clients to display messages in a fixed width font. That allows seeing formatting of such texts like Miva Merchant notification e-mail, without any hassle.
There is also the possibility to send e-mail messages for example in the HTML format. HTML is supported by all current major mail clients. Among IT professionals, the HTML e-mail is not too popular, because of related security problems in some client versions, because of increasing the transferred data volumes, and maybe because of few other reasons.
However, HTML offers possibilities not available with plain SMTP and the formatting is often requested feature. The way MmVENDOR module implements the HTML format is secure for both sides and the transferred data is only slightly higher than at a plain-text message (in contrary to messages formatted within Outlook or other clients, where the volume may be easily the multiple of the original size).
MmVENDOR allows you to customize the look and feel of the notification message. You can change colors, fonts, sizes, add logos, images, formatted text and anything else you may need.

Back to TopCollect supplemental, required or non-required responses from customers at checkout. You can add as many questions to your form as you want. The responses are exported to a delimited text file which can be imported into most database management systems for further analysis. You can also have those responses appear in the Email notification and batch processing. Use it for the customer to add special instructions for the order, collect responses from survey or poll questions, allow the customer to fill out gift card messages, etc.
The admin interface allows you to build the form with your store's questions using standard html syntax.
for Miva Merchant version 3.x and 4.x.
You can place the questions on one of the three checkout screens. This
module is compatible with the MMUI and OpenUI. When using the OpenUI, simply
select the screen from admin. When using the MMUI, editing the mmui.mv
file will accomplish the same thing. You can also specify one or more
of the questions to be required. Customers will not be able to complete
the checkout if they do not respond to the required questions.
You can purge old questions from the active file and place them in a historical file in order to improve response time during order batch processing retrieval. The optional order batch retrieval requires editing the core batch report unless you are using truxoft's batch reporting module, which has an interface for the addendum module data.
In the compiled version you can limit the display of Addendum
questions based on specific product codes. If you list product
codes in the admin input, the questions will only be displayed
if one of those products is in the basket at checkout. You
can also use the wild card product code like 1AA*. If the
applicable products all begin with the same characters, you
can use the asterisk. This can only be used for the beginning
characters in the product codes. You can optionally include
the questions in the emails along with the responses. If
using the OpenUI, you can select in admin whether to insert the
response in the merchant notification or customer confirmation
emails or both. You can also include the questions and responses
on the invoice (last page after payment completes).
Limitation: When used in a store which uses PayFlow link or iTransact payment systems, you will need to place your questions on either the customer information screen or the shipping and payment selection screen. Those payment systems transport the customer to another domain. Hence, the module needs to save the responses to a file before the customer is transported off-site. When the customer returns from the off-site payment screens back to your store, the responses will be retrieved for saving to flat file or display in your merchant notification email.
