1 Shipping SuperMod Checkout Enhancement Copernicus / Miva Central

The Shipping SuperModTM provides a complete shipping method control system that allows you to limit what shipping options are available to your customers based on criteria such as shipping address or even what products are being purchased. It allows you to rename and reorder shipping methods in your store, and provides fall-back shipping methods that can be used when no other shipping methods are available– for instance, when online shipping calculators are down.

Key Benefits Include:

  • Control the text displayed for each shipping method
  • NEW! Can be used with any user interface module including MMUI
  • Filter shipping methods available to the customer based on:
    • Number of items in basket
    • Subtotal of basket
    • Day of week
    • Time Ranges
    • Availability Groups
    • Ship-To Country
    • Ship-To State
    • NEW! Zip Codes & Zip Prefixes
    • Weight Minimum/Maximum
    • Bill-To/Ship-To Match
  • Uses existing shipping modules
  • Allows storeowner to constrain shipping methods available for each product in the store. Customers can only checkout of the store when all products in the order have a common shipping method. *
  • Integrates and shares data with other checkout enhancements from Copernicus
* If you use the Shipping SuperMod and a customer tries to purchase products that cannot all be shipped with the same method, no shipping methods will be available to the customer at checkout because your shipping rules are mutually exclusive and Miva Merchant on its own does not allow multiple shipping calculations in the same order. You can solve this by adding the advanced functionality of the Copernicus CheckOut SuperMod to your store, OR, allow for a "least common denominator" shipping method that is always available for all products. To learn how to do this, go to the Shipping SuperMod FAQ on the Copernicus website.

Example Usage: A storefront that sells cakes and jelly beans online has a shipping problem. When a customer purchases a cake, the cake needs to be delivered overnight so that the cake is fresh upon delivery. When a customer buys jelly beans – they can be shipped using regular ground shipping since the jelly beans won’t go stale for quite a long time. Since the storefront offers overnight air and regular ground shipping, many customers are choosing regular shipping for their cakes and are very upset when they receive a stale cake 5 days later. The Shipping SuperMod allows the storefront owner to limit the shipping choices given to the customer given what the customer places in his shopping basket. Using the Shipping SuperMod, the storeowner creates shipping constraints on each of the products in the store – thus allowing the cake to only be shipped via overnight air. He allows the jelly beans to be shipped via overnight air or regular ground shipping. If the customer only purchases jelly beans, the customer can have a choice of overnight or regular ground shipping. If the customer chooses just a cake, he is given only the choice of overnight shipping. If the customer has jelly beans and a cake in his shopping basket, his shipping choices are limited to “overnight air” (to guarantee the freshness of the cake) since “overnight” air was created by the storefront owner as the “least common denominator” shipping method (i.e. all products in the store have the option of overnight air as a shipping method.) The customer can checkout of the store since the order has a valid shipping option.

SPECIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL NOTES
  • Number of items in a basket: Limit shipping methods available based on the number of items in the basket.
  • Subtotal of basket: Restrict the shipping methods available given a threshold for the subtotal of the basket.
  • Day of week: Limit the days that a specific shipping method is available (all/weekend/weekdays).
  • Time ranges: Limit the time of day that a specific shipping method is available (up to 2 specific ranges).
  • Availability Groups: Limit the shipping methods available depending on what “group” the customer is in.
  • Countries: Limit the shipping methods available to customers based on their Ship-to country.
  • States: Limit the shipping methods available to customers based on their Ship-to state (in the US).
  • Zip Codes / Prefixes You can specify that a shipping method is only available to certain zip codes. The zip codes are treated as prefixes; for example, setting a zip code constraint to 349 will only allow the method to be used for zip codes between 34990 and 34999.
  • Weight Minimum: Constrain the shipping methods available based upon total order weight minimum.
  • Weight Maximum: Constrain the shipping methods available based upon total order weight maximum.
  • Bill To/Ship To Match: If the Bill To and Ship To addresses do not match, only allow certain shipping methods.
For complete control of the checkout process the Address SuperMod™, CheckOut SuperMod™ and Shipping SuperMods™ all work together. Each item in the basket can then be shipped to a different address using a different shipping method. Shipping methods available to each address can be filtered based upon the products in the basket, the destination, etc., and shipping for each address line item is calculated individually.

2 CheckOut SuperMod Checkout Enhancement Copernicus / Miva Central

The CheckOut SuperMod allows your customers to determine the shipping method for each individual item in a single order and then the appropriate shipping and tax calculations are made to determine the total shipping amount for the entire order. Items in an order that are using the same shipping method are grouped to properly calculate the shipping price for the group of items. Now your customers can check out of your store with multiple shipping methods or shipping addresses* in the same order and the shipping is calculated properly.

Key Benefits Include:

  • Advanced Shipping Screen that gives customers the ability to select a different shipping method for every item in the order
  • When the Advanced Shipping Screen is used, the items in the order are internally grouped by shipping method so that items using the same shipping method are calculated and displayed together
  • Customer can choose to go to Advanced Shipping Screen to ship every item via a separate shipping method or can choose to not go to the Advanced Shipping Screen and instead ship everything in the order using the same shipping method
  • Configurable title for the link to the Advanced Shipping Screen from the payment/shipping selection checkout screen.
  • Shipping charges from the Advanced Shipping Screen can be viewed on further checkout screens including the Screen Invoice and emailed invoice
  • Return to shopping after having used the Advanced Shipping Screen and the settings are remembered for checkout and shopper is automatically taken to the Advanced Shipping Screen upon checkout
  • Ability to split line items of multiple-quantity products into individual line-items for different option selections including shipping and address* selections.
  • Works with existing third-party shipping modules
  • Integrates and shares data with the Shipping SuperMod and Address SuperMod from Copernicus giving you even more functionality!
  • When used with the Address SuperMod, each item in the order can be shipped to a different address. Upon checkout, items to common addresses using common shipping methods are grouped together, and proper shipping charges are applied to each shipment. Further, items are then grouped by address for proper tax calculations to each address in the order.
  • Extra functionality for users of the OpenUI SuperMod – Special Virtual Modules and tokens are provided for advanced control over checkout displays. Bonus Virtual Module provides the ability to “Split Line Items” in the basket (normally only appears on advanced shipping screen).

Note: Multiple address selections are only available when used with the Address SuperMod.

For complete control of the checkout process the Address SuperMod™, CheckOut SuperMod™, and Shipping SuperMod™ all work together. Each item in the basket can then be shipped to a different address using a different shipping method. Shipping methods available to each address can be filtered based upon the products in the basket, the destination, etc., and shipping and tax for each shipment is calculated individually.

Product Requirements:
Uncompiled Miva Merchant v4.00-4.13 - OpenUI required.
Compiled Miva Merchant v4.14+ - Dynamic Templates for MMUI or OpenUI required.

Please Note - The CheckOut SuperMod significantly alters the checkout process of your store. The CheckOut SuperMod takes the checkout process beyond that allowed by Miva Merchant, which is why the module allows your customers to checkout of your storefront with multiple shipping methods and/or to multiple addresses (when used with the Address SuperMod) in a single order. Please be sure to test-drive this module on Miva Mia with any other third-party modules you have installed. 6 Sort Shipping Plus Free Shipping Option v5 Emporium Plus / Miva Central

Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. Offer a free shipping option when any one of several parameters are met. Use the default layout within the existing user interface or a template with tokens which allows you to customize the method selection table. Select list or radio button group can be used to display the available methods. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.

Features:
<- Sort shipping methods in the order you want them
- Template with tokens allows methods as select list or radio buttons
- Country configurable template header
- Default layout for those who do not have skills with HTML and tokens
- Free shipping option based on order subtotal
- Free shipping option based on number of products
- Free shipping option based on weight of the order
- Free shipping option can be limited to specific availability or price groups
- Free shipping option can be limited to specific location
- Free shipping option can be related to specific products
- Label for free shipping is configurable
- Configurable default message if no options are calculated
- When only one option, list is replaced with a single line display
- Can hide or display shipping methods by ship to country location
- Can have a different configurable message on the order payment and invoice screens and the notification emails for each shipping method using tokens

Feature Details.
Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. This Miva Merchant module can be used in conjunction with shipping modules which dynamically calculate cost, such as the UPS modules or the various World, State, or ZIP Code Zone modules.

The free shipping option can be implemented when the subtotal of the order or the number of products in the order exceeds the thresholds you establish in admin. Or you can allow free shipping when the weight of the order is less than your specified threshold. You also have theoption to give free shipping to all members of one or more designated availability groups or price groups. You can further configure the free shipping option by limiting it to specific countries (USA can be all states or just the contiguous states). You can also remove the free shipping option if certain products are ordered. It also has free shipping override, ie if every product in the basket is in your list of free shipping codes, then shipping is free no matter what the other parameters are set to. You definewhat the free shipping label displays, e.g. Free Ground Shipping.

The module also provides a default message if there are no shipping methods which can be calculated. This message replaces the default message in Merchant. While you can leave it as Unable to calculate shipping methods, you can change that to be more customer friendly, e.g. We will contact you to adjust shipping costs or To be determined.

Easily use the default layout within the existing user interface or a template with tokens which allows you to customize the method selection table. With the template you can replace the select list with a radio button group. You can also add a Select One option in the select list layout. When only one shipping method exists with the order, the list of methods is replaced with a single line display and no selection is required. The method value is passed as a hidden input to the next screen. The template can have a header section which is configurable for every different country or group of countries.

You can hide or limit the shipping methods based on ship to country. Hence, you can designate certain shipping methods for domestic and others for international shipping. For US, you can even designate the continental US; excluding Alaska and Hawaii from the domestic shipping methods. No need to buy a separate module to hide certain shipping methods from international shipping.

Each method can have a different configurable message (text or html) which is displayed usingtokens. This message can be displayed on the order payment screen (the screen after shippingmethod is selected) and on the invoice screen. It can also be in the customer and merchant notification emails if they can implement module tokens in the format %module|sortship|html_message%. This eliminates the need to install a separate, custom module for checkout messages or rely on theshipping module to have the message capability (many do not have it).

The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed.

7 Mini-Basket Display Weiland / Miva Central

Display a brief summary of items currently in each customer's basket as they shop within a Miva Merchant store, provide a storefront display of the shipping charges, and list their recently visited product pages in your store with quick link and add button.

Features: (some features are only in the compiled version - see details below)
- Summarize basket contents on most Merchant screens
- List product name or code, quantity, and price
- Use image to alert new additions made to basket
- Display a checkout link when order minimum is reached
- Use store's assigned shipping modules to preview shipping options and charges
- List recently visited product pages with easy add to basket button
- Optionally use OpenUI token to place the mini-basket in many places on the screen
- Optionally use token to place visit history outside of the mini-basket
- Owner can monitor live activity of customers visiting product pages through admin
- Customize mini-basket look in admin (color, size, headings)
- Built-in link to view main basket
- Optionally hide mini-basket if no products are in it
- Licensed per domain
- OpenUI or MMUI compatible (OpenUI recommended in compiled Merchant)

The Mini-basket "view" is configured in the admin interface. The title of the Mini-basket, column headings, font size and color are configurable. You also have the option of a checkout link appearing in the Mini-basket when a specific order subtotal has been reached, thus allowing for minimum orders if you have disabled the checkout button in the standard Merchant nav bar. You can also allow customers to preview shipping options and costs with a single click if they enter ship to location info. Customers do not need to be logged in to view the shipping options. The Mini-basket title, checkout button, and shipping option link can be displayed with either text or image. The basket title is linked to the full basket contents display and the checkout is linked to the checkout screens. The shipping option link runs the installed shipping modules to display the available methods.

In the compiled version of Merchant we have included footsteps of customers' recent travels to the product pages in the store. The display remains closed unless the customer clicks the link for the recent visits, thus not taking too much space. When displayed, an Add to basket button can be included so the customer can easily add products which they had visited earlier and now they want to add them without having to search or drill down though the categories. This reminder of pages visited lessens the chance of forgetting something before the customer checks out. The convenient links allows the customer to quickly go back and take a look at the products again. The recent visit history will remain available for the length the store owner has set for basket timeout. Additionally, for your customers who login, you can have the history availability extended for any number of additional hours, as they are more likely to return and make a purchase. The recent visit history can be included within the mini-basket table or outside of it. If you want to place the visit history outside of the mini-basket, you can use tokens in the header and footers of screens if you are using the OpenUI. We have included a "view" feature in admin that allows the store owner to monitor live activity in the store. All recent product page visits are listed the admin screen. Customers not using cookies or whose browser is creating a different session ID with each page click will not be able to display their recent history, however the store owner will still be able to see the pages currently being visited.

In the compiled version are new admin configuration options, e.g. border color and text to display when the basket is empty. If you are using one of the sort shipping modules like our Shipping List or our Sort Shipping Plus Free Shipping Option or the Shipping SuperMod from Copernicus, you can configure the Mini-basket module to use the sort order of those modules. You can configure the product data column to display the full product name, or code, or a portion of the product name (20, 30, or 40 characters). In addition to the several locations available using OpenUI hook points, you can use OpenUI tokens to place the display within headers and footers of the Miva Merchant screens. You can also make the mini-basket invisible until at least one item is added to the basket. You can also include an image in the mini-basket immediately after addition of a product to the basket. Many times customers don't realize a product was added so they click the Add to Basket button again. By displaying a noticeable, e.g. animated, image in the mini-basket, their attention is drawn to the basket and they clearly see the addition was made.

Version 2.x., 3.x Available

License is for ONE mall. Within that single mall, the module can be used in multiple stores without additional license. It functions within both the Miva Merchant (mmui.mv) and OpenUI (oui.mv) look and feel modules, appearing at either the top or bottom of the category column. If using the mmui.mv, you will add one line to the mmui.mv file. Note that if your Merchant version is 4.14 or newer, you'll need to edit and recompile the mmui.mv to mmui.mvc (compiler license from Miva Corp required). Hence, OpenUI is highly recommended if you are using Merchant 4.14 or newer. If using the OpenUI, the hook is automatically set when you install the module. There are several hook point screen locations available, of which one can be selected in the module's admin screen.

9 Sort Shipping Plus Free Shipping Option Weiland / Miva Central

Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. Offer a free shipping option when any of several parameters are met. Use the default layout within the existing user interface or a template with tokens which allows you to customize the method selection table. Select list or radio button group can be used to display the available methods.

    Features:
    - Sort shipping methods in the order you want them
    - Template with tokens allows methods as select list or radio buttons
    - Default layout for those who do not have skills with HTML and tokens
    - Free shipping option based on order subtotal
    - Free shipping option based on number of products
    - Free shipping option based on weight of the order
    - Free shipping option can be limited to specific availability/price group
    - Free shipping option can be limited to specific location
    - Free shipping option can be related to specific products
    - Label for free shipping is configurable
    - Configurable default message if no options are calculated
    - When only one option, list is replaced with a single line display

    Feature Details.
Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. This Miva Merchant module can be used in conjunction with shipping modules which dynamically calculate cost, such as the UPS modules or the various World, State, or ZIP Code Zone modules.

The free shipping option can be implemented when the subtotal of the order or the number of products in the order exceeds the thresholds you establish in admin. Or you can allow free shipping when the weight of the order is less than your specified threshold. You also have the option to give free shipping to all members of a designated availability group or price group. You define what the free shipping label displays, e.g.

MMUI and OpenUI compatible. If using OpenUI, no editing of mv files is needed. However, if using MMUI, editing and re-compiling of the mmui.mv is required. Thus if using MMUI, you need to have the compiler license from Miva and the limited source code for mmui.mv. Hence, OpenUI highly recommended and probably required by most stores.

10 Membership SuperMod Copernicus / Miva Central

Membership SuperMod for Discounts Sales and Membership Rewards

The Membership SuperMod allows you to create Membership Groups in Miva Merchant giving the store owner ways to reward customers through Customer Appreciation Discounts, Sales and Points that can be redeemed for a discount. The storeowner can make various Membership Groups allowing the owner to offer different levels of Membership (and its benefits) depending on the “level of loyalty” of the customer. Customers can be automatically moved from one Membership Group to the next as their purchasing increases. The Membership SuperMod also provides facilities to create special time-based sales for all shoppers in the store.

      Key Benefits:
    • User Interface Independent: Utilizes standard features of Miva Merchant for setting discounts and availability. Can be used with MMUI and OpenUI.
    • Full automatic control of all Price and Availability Group customer assignments. Membership Groups define a set of price and availability groups that are automatically applied to all members of the Membership Group.
    • Membership Groups can have a set beginning date, expiration date or specific duration
    • Configurable to display discounts as a price reduction in the basket and checkout screens so customer is aware of their savings
    • Basket price adjustments are performed when a user logs in; thus allowing the customer to take advantage of their membership even if they log in after shopping.
    • Membership and Sales Features:
      • Time-duration based sales: The store administrator can configure special “Automatic” membership groups that apply to every customer immediately upon login. This is useful for creating special sales periods where all shoppers receive a discount on any or all products in the store
      • Membership Rewards Program: Provide multiple levels of discounts to customers based on their purchase history. Memberships into discount (price) groups can occur by point accumulation, purchase accumulation, or points spent.
      • Points Redemption Program: Provide a points redemption program where customers accumulate points based on purchase history, then can receive discounts in the store by redeeming points for discounts.
      • Exclusive Membership Groups: The storeowner can create membership groups that remove the customer from all other groups as they enter an exclusive group.
      • Automatic entry into membership groups based on:
        • Purchase of a specific product
        • Prior Price or Availability Group membership
        • Entering Membership Code into the customer account
      • Automatic removal from membership groups based on:
        • Allowed duration of a membership
        • Expiration date of a membership
        • Entry into an exclusive group
        • Manual expiration by administrator

      Customer benefits:
      • Receive pre-established discounts at checkout when part of a Membership Group
      • Accumulate points when making purchases
      • Redeem accumulated points when making purchases
      • Receive pre-established discounts and earn/use points even if login to Membership Group during a shopping session
      • Pay with dollars (in addition to points) if there are not enough points accumulated to cover the cost of the entire order

    • Storeowner has complete control when creating Membership Groups
    • Optionally create a “Signup Fee” for the Membership Group
    • Limit the duration of a Membership Group (in days) – great for running sales!
    • Manually adjust the number of points in a customer record
    • Allow or disallow points to be used to pay for tax or shipping
    • Include Price and Availability Groups in the Membership Group
    • Track total purchases, discounts, points earned and points spent by customer
    • Add customers to a group and individually specify their end date within the Membership Group
    • Determine thresholds for automatic inclusion of a customer in a Membership Group

    Product Requirements:
The major features of the Membership SuperMod are provided through the standard Miva Merchant API. Thus, this module can be used in any Miva Merchant 4.x store. However, in order to redeem points at checkout and fully customize the module display and layout features, you must be using a UI module that provides templates or tokens- either OpenUI or MMUI with the Copernicus DynamicTemplate Engine. OpenUI users who also have the OpenUI SuperMod can perform additional customizations that are not available when just using OpenUI.

    • Uncompiled Miva Merchant 4.00-4.13:
      • OpenUI 4.9+ based stores
      • MMUI based stores
    • Miva Merchant 4.14+
      • OpenUI 4.9+ based stores
      • MMUI based stores
When the Membership SuperMod is used with Dynamic Templates for MMUI-based stores or with the OpenUI SuperMod for OpenUI-based stores, the storeowner can take advantage of the templates and tokens available in these modules thus allowing the storeowner to tailor the module output to his specific needs.

11 Product Based Free Shipping & Discount Sebenza Studios / Miva Central

    Product Based Free Shipping!

Offer your customers incentives like Free Shipping or Shipping Discounts on specific products. This is a great way for you to promote and provide incentive to buy high ticket items or featured products!

The module allows you to specify which products should be available for Free Shipping and which Shipping Method free shipping applies to, such as UPS Ground. When your customers place an order for one or more products with Free Shipping and select the appropriate shipping method, in our example UPS Ground, the entire cost of shipping will be discounted.

If the customer’s order contains products with Free Shipping in addition to products without Free Shipping then a Shipping Discount for each Free Shipping product will be applied to their order as specified for each product. This allows you to still offer your customers an incentive to purchase featured products while not having to offer them free shipping on their entire order.

Additionally, if your customer places an order for products with Free Shipping but chooses a shipping method other than the one specified for Free Shipping (i.e. UPS Ground) they will still receive a Shipping Discount towards their order. This is a great way to offer incentive to customers who also want to receive their order faster or live outside of the specified shipping method’s area.

    Method of discounting

The module works by dynamically excluding each product which is configured for free shipping from the customer’s basket weight at checkout. This effectively reduces the total weight of the basket and the shipping cost returned from any weight based shipping module such as those for UPS, USPS, FedEx, as well as other generic modules that calculate shipping cost based on weight

This dynamic exclusion can be limited to only occur when the customer selects a specific shipping method such as UPS Ground. Additionally, only products that have free shipping enabled will be excluded from the basket weight, allowing

12 Customer Credit Copernicus / Miva Central

The CustCredit module allows you to offer store credit to your customer for returned items. The credit is tracked with the customer’s account and is automatically applied to the next purchase when the customer checks out, simplifying your returns process and minimizing credit card charges for refunds.

    Key Benefits Include:

    • Customer Store Credit page in the Miva admin
    • Storefront owner enters store credit into customer’s account
    • Optional area to track reason for credit
    • Refund credit displayed in Edit Customer Account screen when customer logs into storefront
    • Refund automatically applied to customer’s basket as he checks out
    • Refund amount available to customer until it is depleted by purchases

Example Usage: A storefront that sells cakes and jelly beans online accepts returns for jelly beans that arrive stale at the customer’s doorstep. It does not accept returns for the cakes that it sells because the cakes are baked and shipped on the same day. They are never stale since they get shipped over night. (The storefront owner solved this problem with the Copernicus Shipping SuperMod!) Well, the storefront owner purchased a batch of jelly beans from a discounted wholesaler (whose name will not be revealed here!) who sold him 200 pounds of stale jelly beans! The storefront owner did not know that he was sold stale jelly beans and now all of his customers are receiving stale jelly beans!! This is a storefront owner’s nightmare!

The storefront owner wants to issue store credit to his customers rather than refund the money for the stale jelly beans. He wants his customers to be able to come back to his storefront and place new orders that allow them to access the store credit they received as a result of the stale jelly beans. Therefore, the storefront owner invests in the Copernicus CustCredit module and can customize his storefront to offer store credit for returns. Thus solving his returns problem.....if only that wholesaler would take the stale jelly beans back.......

    SPECIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL NOTES

Please note this module requires OpenUI v.4.53 (uncompiled) with the Admin Extensions installed, or OpenUI v.4.71 (compiled). When used alone, that is, without the Copernicus Returns Processing system, you must manually enter the credit information from your customers. When used in conjunction with our Returns Processing system, you can provide store credit automatically as a method of refunding your customer for a return.

    • Approval/disapproval tracked in Merchant admin

    Example Usage:

A storefront that sells cakes and jelly beans online accepts returns for jelly beans that arrive stale at the customer’s doorstep.

Through his storefront, he wants to accept requests for returns and he wants to automatically approve all returns due to “stale jelly beans.” He installs the Copernicus CustReturn module and immediately he is offering his customers an easy way to handle the stale jelly bean problem! He has a standard returns request form for his customers to fill out on his website. He can decide whether to approve or decline all other returns; but since he knows about the stale jelly bean problem, he has configured this return reason for auto-approval. So he’s in complete control of the process; yet, expediting the returns for his customers who have suffered from the stale jelly bean shipment.

He also wants to offer store credit so customers can order a new package of fresh jelly beans. He’s installed the CustCredit module to integrated the returns and customer credit process for his customers. His customers can come back to his website to find out about the approval of their return request and purchase another package of jelly beans using their customer credit.

    SPECIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL NOTES

When using this module alone, that is, without any other Copernicus products from the Customer Service Suite, you can receive return requests through the return request screen and approve or decline the requests through the Merchant admin. When used with the other Customer Service Suite modules from Copernicus, it provides a robust returns tracking system.

When used in conjunction with the CustRMA module, you can accept returns through your website, approve or decline the return, attach an RMA tracking number to the return and then track all communication regarding all aspects of the RMA through the Merchant admin.

When used in conjunction with the CustContact module, your customer can submit a returns request through your website in the return request screen and that request is transferred into the mini-help desk. All related communication is tracked through the Merchant admin.

When used in conjunction with the CustCredit module, the store owner can accept a request for a return through the return request screen, approve or decline the request, and issue a store credit for the items returned.

The Customer Service Suite of modules, CustCredit, CustReturn, CustRMA and CustContact can each be used separately but are best when used together as a comprehensive customer service solution.

14 Customer RMA Number - CustRMA Copernicus / Miva Central

The CustRMA module provides an administrative interface for handling the returns process. Store administrators can manage product returns, track RMA numbers, and identify the credit method for a return. When a returned product is received, the store administrator can check-off the items from the RMA list; once the entire return is received the RMA is automatically closed.

    Key Benefits Include:

    • Select items being returned in the Store Order page in the Miva admin
    • Select the credit method for the return
    • An RMA Tracking number is assigned to those items
      • This number is used in all returns communication with customer
      • Grouped items can be assigned their own tracking number
    • Check off the returned items as they arrive; this closes each RMA ticket as it’s completed

Example Usage: A store that sells cakes and jelly beans online accepts returns for jelly beans that arrive stale at the customer’s doorstep. It does not accept returns for the cakes that it sells because the cakes are baked and shipped on the same day. They are never stale since they get shipped over night. (The store owner solved this problem with the Copernicus Shipping SuperMod!) Well, the owner purchased a batch of jelly beans from a discount wholesaler (whose name will not be revealed here!) who sold him 200 pounds of stale jelly beans!

The store owner is upset by this, and wants to make it easy for his customers to return the stale jelly beans. He also wants to make sure that all of the packages of jelly beans are returned before he issues store credit to the customer. The supplier who shipped the stale jelly beans will replace the 200 pounds of jelly beans with fresh jelly beans if all of the stale ones are returned. Therefore, the storeowner must meticulously track the return of all of the packages of stale jelly beans.

He installs the Copernicus RMA Tracking module and instantly he is tracking every package of jelly beans that are returned. He can track each package of each order, assign RMA Tracking numbers to assure proper accounting of each package and knows exactly when a return is completed. Since he also wants to please his customers, he has installed the Copernicus CustCredit module so that instantly upon closure of the RMA tracking ticket, the customer receives store credit for the return and can purchase new packages of fresh jelly beans.

    SPECIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL NOTES

When using this module alone, that is, without any other products from the Customer Service Suite, you create the returns and inform your customers of the RMA Tracking number and any updates throughout the return process. When used with the CustReturn and CustContact modules, this becomes a robust returns tracking system.

When used in conjunction with the CustReturn module, you can accept returns through your website, approve or decline the return, attach an RMA tracking number to the return and then track all communication regarding all aspects of the RMA through the Merchant admin.

When the CustRMA module is used in conjunction with the CustContact module, you can track the communication regarding the RMA Tracking number through the mini-help desk. This way, all communication regarding the return is documented and can be referenced as necessary throughout the return process.

When used in conjunction with the CustCredit module, the store owner can track the return and automatically provide a store credit to the customerupon successful closure of the RMA.

The Customer Service Suite of modules, CustCredit, CustReturn, CustRMA and CustContact can each be used separately but are best when used together as a comprehensive customer service solution.

15 Shipping by Product by Zip Code Zone Weiland / Miva Central

Calculate shipping by product as a fixed amount or as a percentage of the product's cost AND by the method of shipping AND by the "ship to" ZIP Code Zone. Each products' shipping cost is summed to arrive at the order's shipping cost. This module provides flexibility to combine flat rate and percentage of subtotal calculations on a product by product basis.

Easy admin configuration of per product shipping charges. The store owner initially sets up the available storewide shipping methods and rates for the store. You can have multiple methods for as many ZIP Code Zones as you establish. You establish which ZIP Codes belong to which ZIP Code Zone. You can then let the storewide methods and rates apply to each product in the store or you can establish "Shipping Override" by product or by category. If you desire every product in a category to have a shipping cost different from the storewide costs, you set up that category's "Shipping Override" methods from the Category tab. You can even use some storewide and some category specific. Then if you have specific shipping costs for specific products, you can select the "Shipping Override" tab in the product edit screen. You can use the storewide methods and rates or override with the product specific rate. The product specific rates take precedence over the category specific rates and the category specific rates take precedence over the storewide rates.

Fixed cost or percentage of item price. The "Shipping Override" costs can be set as percentage or fixed amount and need not use the same calculation formula as the storewide calculation for the same method. The "Shipping Override" charges can even be zero so that shipping can be free for certain products or categories. As an example, the store might charge $4.00 for each item for priority mail. However, they may charge 2% of the item's cost in the jewelry category. As the shipping module summed the costs, it would apply the $4.00 to each item that did not have a "Shipping Override". Then it would multiply the 2% times each purchased item's cost in the jewelry category and add it to the sum.

Handling charge option. The module even provides an input for a handling or base charge. That amount can be different for each method of shipping and is added after all of the individual product shipping charges are summed.

Display this module's shipping methods based on destination. Like our other ZIP Code Zone shipping modules, you can have different methods and rates for different areas of the country. When the customer enters their "ship to" address during checkout, the module determines which shipping methods will be available to that customer. Only methods established for their "ship to" ZIP Code will be visible in the shipping and payment selection screen. The module uses the first 3 numbers of the ZIP Code to match with the zones.

Individual ZIP codes or ranges and variable length codes. The module for compiled Merchant (4.14 and newer) can use ZIP code ranges in lieu of individual ZIP codes. It also has the ability to use the first 5 digits instead of the first 3 digits of the ZIP codes.

However, they may charge 2% of the item's cost in the jewelry category. As the shipping module summed the costs, it would apply the $4.00 to each item that did not have a "Shipping Override". Then it would multiply the 2% times each purchased item's cost in the jewelry category and add it to the sum.

The module even provides an input for a handling or base charge. That amount can be different for each method of shipping and is added after all of the individual product shipping charges are summed.

Like our other World Zone shipping modules, you can have different methods and rates for different areas of the World. When the customer enters their "ship to" address during checkout, the module determines which shipping methods will be available to that customer. Only methods established for their "ship to" country will be visible in the shipping and payment selection screen.

This module is compatible with the MMUI and OpenUI look and feel user interfaces. It is licensed per domain which means if you have multiple stores under one domain, there are no additional license fees for this module within that one domain/mall.

Checkout This provides a way for you to display important information to your customers during the checkout process. You define one or more messages that can be triggered by various conditions of the customer's purchase. You can assign messages to be triggered by:

    • Type of shipping
    • Type of payment
    • Specific product in basket
    • Product from specific category in basket

20 Quantity Plus Shipping Copernicus / Miva Central

    Now allows multiple price ranges!

The QuantityPlus! Shipping module allows you to configure robust quantity based shipping rules. You can configure multiple shipping "bins" or product classifications for each shipping method, and apply a shipping bin for each product by shipping method.

This module is useful if you have multiple products that all need to have the same "quantity" based rule applied, and standard quantity based shipping isn't quite right for you. For instance, if you ship books, the first book may cost $5 for domestic ground shipping, with each additional book (no matter what title or product ID) should cost $3 each. The standard "Quantity Shipping" module might not work right, since each book is a different product. Our QuantityPlus! module allows you to assign groups of products to the same quantity based shipping calculation such that all soft-back books are considered the same "product" for the quantity based shipping calculation.

Different shipping methods can be created for international and domestic customers. Only the shipping methods that apply based on the order ship-to address will appear on the order screen.

The QuantityPlus! Shipping Module comes with an excellent store level administrative interface that allows you to create shipping methods and bins, as well as product level administrative screen that allows you to assign each product a shipping bin for each shipping method.
