The OpenUI Look & Feel Pro License Key unlocks a special feature of the latest OpenUI module. Once you unlock this feature with your license, you will be able to see the total stats for the orders in one batch, all unbatched orders, or all orders regardless of classification. The stats page gives a total sales summary, and then breaks the total sales down by day-of-the-week and time of day (by the hour) the orders were made. The stats page also lists the top selling products and top revenue generators for the specified parameters. The stats are based on the filtering options you currently have set, allowing you to specify exactly what information you would like to generate. Back to TopThe Power Search module is a plugin module which implements field specific, keyword searching within a Miva Merchant 2.x storefront. License is for ONE mall. Within that single mall, it can be used in multiple stores without additional license.
The purpose of powrsrch.mv is to allow a customer to search one or more fields which are made selectable by the store owner. The store owner can choose any fields within the products.dbf structure to be available. If you have an altered products.dbf structure, it will even allow selection of those additional fields (see screen shot below).
You can also exclude a word or phrase. An example of an exclude word usage might be: You sell health food but want the ability for customers to NOT list ingredients they are allergic to. So in the product name field you might have Soup. Then if you have a field in your database called Ingredient the customer could check the name and ingredient fields for searching. In the keyword input they would put soup. In the exclude input they could put MSG. It would search both fields. If it found soup in either it would compile those products to the list. But if the word MSG appeared in either field, it would remove it from the list.
Specific category, if selected, allows one category only searches. This feature may be too intimidating if you have hundreds of categories as the pull down select would be quite long.
New for the compiled version is the ability to specify a price range for the search. Also, in the compiled version we added the ability to display links to numbered pages when the search results exceed the number of matches displayed on a single page. You can use OpenUI Tokens to place the search form in several locations in your store. You also have the ability to replace the default form with one which you design with your own html (for those who know how to write html forms). The alternate html form can also be placed at one of seven different locations on the storefront screen. You'll use the default form as a template and can then add your own layout to improve the look and feel. Also if you are using the compiled Power Search AND the compiled Tell A Friend module, customers can send the search string from Power Search to friends. The store owner also has the ability to allow customers to search the category headers and footers for the search word. Because this may slow the search, you should only use it if your store has a moderate number of categories, e.g. 100 or less.
Faster servers may get decent search times with many more than that though.
Added new search algorythms "Any of these", Exact phrase", and "Start at beginning".
Store owners can create a list of words which will not be
searched in the "All of these" or "Any of these" searches. These are words like a, an, the, and, or. It will not exclude those words in the "Start at the beginning" or "Exact phrase" searches.
If you choose to use the "search single category" listing, you
can modify that from the admin control panel and only list certain categories in the select list, but provide searches of all of their sub-categories. This top down search adds greater flexibility over how broad you will allow your customers to filter the categories.
After going to the product page from a Power Search rendered search, a convenient "return to search" link on the product page will bring the customer back to the original search page if using OpenUI.
Power Search (version 4.63) has been tested with OpenDB (version 2.2)
and is compatible. In tests by James at Copernicus, the Power Search
improved the performance of the already, very fast, SQL searches.
118k products in the database, 2456 categories, two search terms "PC133 RAM"
- Normal Miva Merchant Search: ~60 seconds
- OpenDBv2 Standard Search: TT time=07s0620u
- OpenDBv2 Power Search (limit to code, name & desc fields and no
category specific search): TT time=05s0259u
For store owners who have found their searches take too long, you can reduce the search time by only searching one or two fields. The Merchant default is eight fields, including fields such as weight. Now, how useful is that? Finally.... the store owner has control without editing the db.mv code library.
The total number of products found is displayed along with the list of products matching the search criteria.
In admin, you can view the log of search words/phrases which your customers have used. This helps you from a marketing standpoint to determine the most sought after products. Additionally, it helps you identify keywords which might be useful to include in the narrative descriptions or the meta tag for search engine submissions.
This module works with both the MMUI and OpenUI User Interfaces (versions 2.22-4.x). If using the MMUI, six edits in the mmui.mv file are required, and one optional edit if you want to remove the archaic standard Merchant, keyword search. If you have compiled Merchant (4.14 or newer) that requires editing and re-compiling, so for compiled Merchant, OpenUI is required unless you have the compiler license. If you are using the OpenUI, Power Search plugs into the OpenUI without editing OpenUI modules and there is no need for compiling in Merchant 4.14 and newer.
See the screen shot below, then check out the selected field search in our store. We have about 600 products in our store so you can get an idea of search speed on a moderate speed server.
The Power Search function can also be used for pre-defined form pulldowns in your store. As an example, the genre and decade searches on the left side of this screen search a specific field, with store owner pre-defined selections. This same technique can be used for things like manufacturer searches if you have a manufacturer field in your products.dbf.

This module will allow you to send customer order confirmation or notification emails optionally by HTML formatted e-mail, in plain text or in plain-text with an HTML page as a file attachment.
The HTML Formatted Customer Confirmation module lets you totally customize the email confirmations to include descriptions, images, and more.
Merchant users and owners often complain about the readability of the notification e-mail. They are not aware of the fact that classical e-mail protocol (SMTP ) does not have any text formatting features. For these reasons, IT professionals use to set their mail clients to display messages in a fixed width font. That allows seeing formatting of such texts like Customer Order Confirmation E-mail, without any hassle.
There is also the possibility to send e-mail messages for example in the HTML format. HTML is supported by all current major mail clients. Among IT professionals, the HTML e-mail is not too popular, because of related security problems in some client versions, because of increasing the transferred data volumes, and maybe because of few other reasons.
However, HTML offers possibilities not available with plain SMTP and the formatting is often requested feature. The way MmHTMLc module implements the HTML format is secure for both sides and the transferred data is only slightly higher than at a plain-text message (in contrary to messages formatted within Outlook or other clients, where the volume may be easily the multiple of the original size).
The store owner may select between HTML, plain-text or a combination of both formats (Plain text in the message body and an HTML page in the file attachment. MmHTMLc allows you to customize the look and feel of the notification message. You can change colors, fonts, sizes, add logos, images, formatted text and anything else you may need.
NEW: MmHTMLc can be now configured to display the customized invoice with all the additional features (headers, footers, formatting, additional expressions, additional column, sorting,...) also instead of the standard checkout on-screen inovice.

Back to TopCalculate shipping by product as a fixed amount or as a percentage of the product's cost AND by the method of shipping AND by the "ship to" State Zone. Each products' shipping cost is summed to arrive at the order's shipping cost. This module provides flexibility to combine flat rate and percentage of subtotal calculations on a product by product basis.
The store owner initially sets up the available storewide shipping methods and rates for the store. You can have multiple methods for as many State Zones as you establish. You establish which states belong to which State Zone. You can then let the storewide methods and rates apply to each product in the store or you can establish "Shipping Override" by product or by category. If you desire every product in a category to have a shipping cost different from the storewide costs, you set up that category's "Shipping Override" methods from the Category tab. You can even use some storewide and some category specific. Then if you have specific shipping costs for specific products, you can select the "Shipping Override" tab in the product edit screen. You can use the storewide methods and rates or override with the product specific rate. The product specific rates take precedence over the category specific rates and the category specific rates take precedence over the storewide rates.
The "Shipping Override" costs can be set as percentage or fixed amount and need not use the same calculation formula as the storewide calculation for the same method. The "Shipping Override" charges can even be zero so that shipping can be free for certain products or categories. As an example, the store might charge $4.00 for each item for priority mail. However, they may charge 2% of the item's cost in the jewelry category. As the shipping module summed the costs, it would apply the $4.00 to each item that did not have a "Shipping Override". Then it would multiply the 2% times each purchased item's cost in the jewelry category and add it to the sum.
The module even provides an input for a handling or base charge. That amount can be different for each method of shipping and is added after all of the individual product shipping charges are summed.
Like our other State Zone shipping modules, you can have different methods and rates for different areas of the country. When the customer enters their "ship to" address during checkout, the module determines which shipping methods will be available to that customer. Only methods established for their "ship to" state will be visible in the shipping and payment selection screen.
This module is compatible with the MMUI and OpenUI look and feel user interfaces. It is licensed per domain which means if you have multiple stores under one domain, there are no additional license fees for this module within that one domain/mall.

No more broken lines and column aligning in order notifications! MmHTML allows you to format the merchant notification: proper aligning, fonts, sizes, HTML header and footer, embeded images, hyperlinks. MmHTML adds also the payment data and a detailed user tracking information to the report.

They are not aware of the fact that classical e-mail protocol (SMTP ) does not have any text formatting features. The purpose of this module is to allow customers to place an order at a Miva Merchant™ Storefront Development System © Miva Corp which they will then pay for using their PayPal © x.com account. This payment module is licensed per domain. No additional store licenses are required if used within the same mall. The current version works with Merchant 2.x, 3.x and 4.x.
If your PayPal account is either a "Business" or "Premier" PayPal account, this module guides the customer to the PayPal payment screens so that they do not get to the invoice screen without properly entering pay data. When the customer clicks the Pay button at the PayPal site, you can have the PayPal Instant Payment Notification (IPN) send a silent update back to your payment history file which can be viewed in your Merchant admin:order edit screen. Unlike some other modules, if the customer does not return to Merchant, his order will still be processed and email notifications sent. When returning to your store, the invoice page will be displayed. You can also add additional instructions to inform customers what to expect at the PayPal site through the admin interface. If you are using Addendum in your store, you will need to use Addendum version 3.08 or newer when using the PayPal module. If your PayPal account is a "Personal" account, the flow for payment is a bit different. Contact me if your PayPal account is a "personal" PayPal account and I will give you the details.
Although the PayPal system is not like real time credit card processing and authorization systems, it is more like using the simple credit card validation. PayPal does the authorization using it's web accept and sends you a confirmation email. You match the Merchant notification emails with the PayPal confirmation emails. For added security, it is advisable to check the status on the PayPal web site (linked within Merchant admin). Once confirmations are verified that the money has transferred to your account, you can ship the products.
The Merchant version 2.x, 3.x and 4.x PayPal payment module can be used with both the MMUI and OpenUI look and feel. A single edit is needed if you are using the MMUI AND your PayPal account is a "Personal" account. If you have a "Business" or "Premier" PayPal account, the MMUI edit is NOT needed. An optional code edit can be also made to include the payment method in the merchant notification email. You may find it advantageous to use our Show Payment Type module instead which lists all payment methods in the email, not just PayPal. No code edits are needed if you are using the OpenUI for either the PayPal or Show Payment Type modules.
New in the compiled version is a report module. You can list orders by any time frame and specify only orders with a specific product code in them. You can also sort it by state or country according to their paypal.com account registration
This module is particularly useful for the small sized Mom and Pop store which does not want the added expense of setting up Merchant credit card accounts and having to meet minimum sales quotas. This store is a prime example, as I do not take credit cards directly. Rather you can pay for software at this store using PayPal, by signing up and debiting your credit card at PayPal. Try it out, I think you'll like it.
Additionally, it is a nice option for the big guys in that it makes online fulfillment possible for those customers who don't have credit cards but have built up an online balance through their own sales, e.g. through eBay. PayPal is the predominant method of payment at eBay. There are over 16,000,000 million PayPal accounts. Do not overlook these as potential customers at your store. Over 30,000 websites accept PayPal and are listed in the PayPal Shops at paypal.com. Can you afford not to be in that list? PayPal accounts are available to customers in the United States and many other countries around the world.
PayPal is currently giving you $5 to sign up and complete the bonus requirements. So do the math. Signup, order this $20 module and let PayPal pay $5 of the cost. How long this will last is anybody's guess, so don't wait too long.
If you are not familiar with how PayPal works, check it out. If you like it, sign up, then add this payment option to your store.

Back to TopThe purpose of this module is to allow customers to place a subscription order at a Miva Merchant (? Miva Corp) store which they will then pay for using their PayPal (? x.com) account. This module is licensed per domain. No additional store licenses are required if used within the same mall.
This module is specifically designed for subscription payments. It allows scheduling one or two trial periods, with or without a charge on the first trial. The second trail, if used, would charge the customer. You can skip the trial periods and only offer the regular subscription. The subsciption allows intervals established in days, weeks, months and years. The customer makes the first payment. They then pay at the store's preset interval automatically. PayPal notifies them as each payment due is paid. If the customer cancels or does not pay at any interval, the store owner is notified so that he/she can turn off the subscription. PayPal manages the payments and intervals and deposits the payments into your account automatically.
This module guides the customer to the PayPal payment screens so that they do not get to the invoice screen without properly entering pay data. Unlike some other modules, if the customer does not return to Merchant, his order will still be processed and email notifications sent. When returning to your store, the invoice page will be displayed. You can also add additional instructions to inform customers what to expect at the PayPal site.
The module default will allow all of your products to be purchased with subscriptions. However, you can limit that to only product codes which you want to sell as subscriptions. Use this module for magazine or ezine subscriptions. You can even use it for membership programs. As long as the customer keeps their payments current, you keep their membership active. If they fail to keep current, PayPal notifies you of the status. Use it to manage domain registrations or web hosting fees. If you sell software licenses which are renewable, PayPal can keep track of the renewal dates and notify the customer and you.

Although the PayPal system is not like real time credit card processing and authorization systems, it is more like using the simple credit card validation. PayPal does the authorization and sends you a confirmation email. You match the Merchant notification emails with the PayPal confirmation emails. For added security, it is advisable to check the status on the PayPal web site (linked to the specific transaction within Merchant admin). Once confirmations are verified that the money has transferred to your account, you can supply the products.
The Merchant version 2.x, 3.x and 4.x PayPal payment module can be used with both the MMUI and OpenUI look and feel. If using the MMUI, an optional code edit can be also made to include the payment method in the merchant notification email. You may find it advantageous to use our Show Payment Type module instead which lists all payment methods in the email, not just PayPal. No code edits are needed if you are using the OpenUI for either the PayPal or Show Payment Type modules.
