return via your storefront. The return request can be processed in the Miva Merchant admin and
your customers can view the status of the return request.

Example Usage:
A storefront that sells cakes and jelly
beans online accepts returns for jelly
beans that arrive stale at the customer’s

on the same day. They are never stale
since they get shipped over night.
(The storefront owner solved this problem
with the Copernicus Shipping SuperMod!)
Well, the storefront owner
purchased a batch of jelly beans from a
discounted wholesaler (whose name
will not be revealed here!) who sold
him 200 pounds of stale jelly beans!
Through his storefront, he wants to
accept requests for returns and he
wants to automatically approve all returns
due to “stale jelly beans.” He
installs the Copernicus CustReturn
module and immediately he is offering
his customers an easy way to handle
the stale jelly bean problem! He has a
standard returns request form for his
customers to fill out on his website. He
can decide whether to approve or decline
all other returns; but since he
knows about the stale jelly bean problem,
he has configured this return reason
for auto-approval. So he’s in complete
control of the process; yet, expediting
the returns for his customers
who have suffered from the stale jelly
bean shipment.
He also wants to offer store credit so
customers can order a new package of
fresh jelly beans. He’s installed the
CustCredit module to integrated the
returns and customer credit process for
his customers. His customers can
come back to his website to find out
about the approval of their return request
and purchase another package of
jelly beans using their customer credit.

When using this module alone, that is,
without any other Copernicus products
from the Customer Service Suite, you
can receive return requests through
the return request screen and approve
or decline the requests through the
Merchant admin. When used with the
other Customer Service Suite modules

CustRMA module, you can accept returns
through your website, approve or
decline the return, attach an RMA
tracking number to the return and then
track all communication regarding all
aspects of the RMA through the Merchant

screen and that request is transferred
into the mini-help desk. All related
communication is tracked through the

Upon the order completion the module creates a temporary directory with cryptic name (you can define the length of the random cryptic directory name), locks it with user name/password and copies there all ordered products or documents that are set up for download (or remote access - e.g. at courses or member restricted websites). Beyond the (optional) login/password, it allows an additional security with (optional) crosschecking of cookies, IP address, browser version and several other parameters. You can also set the account expiration time after which the directory will be automatically removed. All this runs with symbolic links, it means the original files or documents are stored out of the public area, in the Miva data directory and they are not transferred or copied physically. So for example if you have a software product or a document for download of 1MB and 100 active customers, it does not take 100MB of disk space, but still just 1MB - and additionally the account creation is much faster and less resource intensive than when copying whole files. Notifications with the download links may be sent to the customer either immediately upon the purchase with a selected payment method (e.g. a credit card) or after approving the order manually from the Ultra Batch Report. If you do not own the Ultra Batch module, you can use the MmHTML (Merchant Notification Email module) instead of the MmHTMLc (Customer Confirmation Email module) and forward the received Merchant notification e-mail to the customer after approving the purchase. - Software, Content, Website access delivery through protected URLs

The reduction in the number of variables helps with search engine spiders
- Short links are always interpreted and understood by your store when the module is installed and turned on. Therefore, any “short” external link can be used even if you have turned off the display of the short links.
- Long links are always interpreted and understood by your store; so previous search engine listings and external links continue to work normally.
- The “display” of the short links in your store can be disabled, though the store will continue to interpret the short links from external sources (ie: the companion product Search Friendly Store Map, emails and mailing list, etc)
The Search Friendly Links module can produce best results when used in conjunction with the companion product Search Friendly Store Map. The store map product will generate a static HTML page containing Search Friendly Links to every product and category in your store! Search engines tend to give static HTML pages (and the links on these pages) higher precedence and ranks. When used together, these two products generally enhance search engine positioning.

Example Usage
A storefront owner that sells cakes and jelly beans online wants to improve the search engine positioning of the store. He has an attractive storefront and has made it very customer friendly (yep, you guessed it – he’s using the Copernicus Customer Service Suite) but the only shoppers who come to his site are repeat customers who originally heard about his site through “word of mouth.” He knows that if he could just get listed in the major search engines he could increase his sales, but he can’t understand why his site has not been “spidered” by the search engines. He’s not ready to “pay per click” with search engines like Overture, he just wants to get listed.
As a result of his frustration about his search engine placement (or actually, lack thereof), the storefront owner has been learning a lot about search engine optimization (SEO). He has learned that the reason his website has no placement on the search engines is because Miva Merchant produces dynamic pages with links that are not read by the spiders and robots sent out by search engines to find websites. The links are too long (those spiders are so impatient!) and spiders disqualify them due to having too many variables. Of course, he knows that it’s also very important that his pages are full of good content that can be easily logged by the search engines.
The Solution: The Search Friendly Links module will quickly solve the long links problem that this storefront is having. The Search Friendly Links module turns the long links for each category and product page into “short links” that are easily read by those spiders and robots. Further, he likes to make posts to the “Dessert-lovers” email forum; but every time he posts a link to one of his products, the links are so long they “word-wrap” and become un-clickable! So he installs the Search Friendly Links module, and starts posting short links to his products. Now his links look better in his store and his email, and the spiders are happier too!

It provides customers a “Contact Us” page that they can use to send you messages that are categorized, tracked and can be responded to – all through the Merchant admin. The CustRMA module provides an administrative interface for handling the returns process. Store
administrators can manage product returns, track RMA numbers, and identify the credit method
for a return. When a returned product is received, the store administrator can check-off the items from the RMA list; once the entire return is received the RMA is automatically closed.

Example Usage: A store that sells cakes and jelly beans
online accepts returns for jelly beans
that arrive stale at the customer’s
doorstep. It does not accept returns for
the cakes that it sells because the
cakes are baked and shipped on the
same day. They are never stale since
they get shipped over night. (The store
owner solved this problem with the
Copernicus Shipping SuperMod!) Well,
the owner purchased a batch of jelly
beans from a discount wholesaler
(whose name will not be revealed
here!) who sold him 200 pounds of
stale jelly beans!
The store owner is upset by this, and
wants to make it easy for his customers
to return the stale jelly beans. He
also wants to make sure that all of the
packages of jelly beans are returned
before he issues store credit to the
customer. The supplier who shipped
the stale jelly beans will replace the
200 pounds of jelly beans with fresh
jelly beans if all of the stale ones are
returned. Therefore, the storeowner
must meticulously track the return of
all of the packages of stale jelly beans.
He installs the Copernicus RMA Tracking
module and instantly he is tracking
every package of jelly beans that are
returned. He can track each package of
each order, assign RMA Tracking numbers
to assure proper accounting of
each package and knows exactly when
a return is completed. Since he also
wants to please his customers, he has
installed the Copernicus CustCredit
module so that instantly upon closure
of the RMA tracking ticket, the customer
receives store credit for the return
and can purchase new packages
of fresh jelly beans.

Ready for the holiday? Got Gift Certificates? The Gift Certificate Redemption Manager allows your customers to purchase gift certificates that can only be redeemed at your website. These certificates can be created via auto-vending or by creating them manually.
Key Features:
Auto-Vending- Auto-Vending allows your store to automatically generate license keys based on the product purchased and the payment method used. Each certificates settings has the option to specify an auto-vending product code. When that product code is purchased a certificate key of the specified value will be created. If the key was purchased with an approved payment, then the key is set to Active. If not, the key is set to Pending
Remaining balance carry over- This allows your users to use any balances they may have from a previously used gift certificate.
