The Category Manager module allows you to have multiple category templates in a single store. You can have a different template for every category in your store if you want. The templates use the standard store morph technology template editor in MIVA Merchant 5. While basic knowledge of how to edit MIVA Merchant 5 templates is required, there are two example templates provided in addition to the built in ctgy page template. Getting started is not that difficult. Don't miss our introductory price of this versatile module.
Features: - Multiple category templates in a single store - One or more categories can be assigned to use a specific template - Default template is used for categories which do not have a custom template assigned - Custom pagination in addition to the default Previous and Next buttons - Can limit products displayed per page to a specific number for each template or can list all on one page - Customer can sort products within the category in real time dynamically - Breadcrumb navigation included - Sub-category navigation included
| Feature Details. Multiple page templates. Using the built-in store morph technology, you can edit the page templates just like the built-in page templates, including recall, notes, and indexing of previous versions. Include typical render tokens on the custom category pages from other 3rd party modules (sold separately) which you have in your store, e.g. rate this, wait list, best seller, and others.
Easy assignment of categories to templates. Once you create the template you can assign one or more categories to it. This can be done from the Category Edit screen or if you are using the Emporium Plus Category Import module (sold separately), you can import the template assignment right along with importing new categories into the store. No need to import the categories with one module and then use a separate module to assign them to templates.
Default page for unassigned categories. The default ctgy page template is used for all categories which have not been assigned to a specific custom template. This makes processing more efficient as the Category Manager runs a quick lookup to determine if it needs to run certain more complex processing routines, like advanced pagination.
Advanced page navigation. Several pagination variables are available to write detailed page navigation links. You can have the typical 1 2 3 4 etc. Or you can break up long lines with arrows, dots, dashes, etc to fill in a gap. You can also display the page number of the total number of pages. This pagination is similar to that used in the Emporium Plus Power Search module for Merchant 5. As a point of reference for the customer, you can even include how many products are listed in the category.
Flexible pagination. Each category template can have a different setting for the number of products to display on a page. Initially, the customer will see the number you set. However, customers using broadband may want to see all the product in a category on a single page, so there is an option to list all.
On-the-fly sorting. The products are initially displayed in the sort order which the store owner has previously setup in the normal admin sorting. The customer can then change the sort order based on their desires. Available sort fields are name, code, price, date items were added to the store, or the default store setup. They can be sorted ascending or descending.
Breadcrunb navigation. The module includes optional breadcrumb navigation. An array is created which holds the current category name and its parents up to the top level category. With standard MIVA Merchant template code, you can create a quick link to higher categories like Home > Software > Developer Bundles
Sub-category navigation. You can display the sub-categories of a parent category on the category page, e.g. below the parent category's name. The array can be displayed like you want it using standard MIVA Merchant template code.
We cannot link to our demo stores from MivaCentral so if you'd like to see a couple of the live pages demonstrating single or multiple column layout of products, please contact us for links. Those pages demonstrate the variable layout of products, breadcrumb navigation, on-the-fly sorting, and sub-category navigation.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed. |

Manage coupon addition and redemption functions within a Miva Merchant 5.x storefront with this plugin module. License is for ONE mall. Within that single mall, it can be used in multiple stores without additional license. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
Features:- Configurable prompt - Configurable action - Configurable redemption - Configurable coupon rejection messages - Uses tokens to place input on pages - Searchable coupon database with pagination - Easy view admin for coupon content and historical usage - Coupon codes can be individually assigned - Import coupon codes from flat file in bulk - Autogenerate unique coupon codes with token - Assign coupon code as a series for affiliate purposes - Global scope or for specific products - Checkout coupons one per order - Instant coupons on product pages, multiple per order - Fixed amount or percentage of eligible products discounting - Specific product eligibility can be scoped to the attribute level - Minimum order level for redemption of checkout coupons - Establish expiration dates - Line item display in basket after redemption - Single use coupons - One per customer coupons - Multiuse coupons (can be limited) - Free shipping coupons - Limit the country, state or zip a coupon can be used for - Combination of free shipping and order discount (% or fixed) coupon - Easy deletion of expired coupons - Coupon report identifies coupon usage
Feature Details. You can add coupons through the standard Miva Merchant admin interface and include usage criteria.
- An unlimited number of coupons can be assigned to the store and eachidentified with a coupon code. Once you have added the module to the store, you can add coupons in the Order Fulfillment section of the admininterface. When you select the Add icon, you will have several input fields to fill in. You must enter a unique code for your coupon. Thisis the code that you will give to customers so they can shop and redeemthe coupon. It can be any combination of letters and/or numbers.
- You canembed a token in your welcome email or notification emails generated with our Mail Manager (Emporium Plus - Weiland) module. A unique coupon code will be created and is based on the coupon template you designate. You can have an unlimited number of templates and an unlimited number of coupons copied from them. If you are not using our Mail Manager, you can still activate the generator by placing the token in the invoice header. If you are using our Tell A Friend (Emporium Plus - Weiland) module, you can embed the unique coupon code in the emails that customers send when referring their friends to your store. The coupon generation is also useful when it is embedded into the follow on contact emails that our Follow On Contact (Emporium Plus - Weiland) module sends out.
- If you have a lot of coupons you want to load into the system quickly, there is a coupon import from flat file module
- An optional expiration date can be included which will prevent its useif the date has passed. Enter it in the year, month, day format, eg. 20000724 would be July 24, 2000. If you leave this field blank the coupon will never expire. However, you can still delete it manually through the admin interface.
- A fixed value OR percentage discount off the order total is assigned to each coupon. The default is fixed value/price, e.g. $5.00 off the order total. If you put the % sign in the next input field AFTER the value field, it will calculate the coupon value based on the assigned percent of the order total. The %, if used, is entered in the separate field to the right for that purpose. If left blank, the calculation will be based on the fixed value of the coupon. See the note below about restricting discount calculations to specific products instead of the order total. A maximum redemptionvalue can be assigned to each coupon.
- Free shipping coupon option. If you enter the letter S in the field to the right of the value field, the coupon will be used to allow free shipping for the entire order. Other criteria for the coupon must be met, e.g. minimum order amount, eligible products, etc.
- Optionally, a coupon can be allowed only when an order total reaches a specific amount. For example, you can give a 10% discount when the order total reaches $200 as an incentive or promo. In all cases where a raw value is used, you must make this value equal to or greater than the value of the coupon. If you usethe percent calculation, this value can be any value, including zero.
- Based on your state's tax requirements, the coupon can be designated toreduce the sales tax or not reduce it. The coupon's tax effect is onthe order total, not on individual products. For example, in some states, a store coupon reduces the cumulative value of products purchased before the sales tax is applied, hence you would want it to reduce tax. The exception to doingthis is if your products are likely to be non-taxable, making a coupon reduce tax could result in a negative tax calculation. Another type coupon might be the manufacturer coupon. In some states, manufacturer coupons do not decrease the tax liability. You should determine your state's tax requirements before adding coupons to your store.
- Coupons can either be used:
- multiple times - The coupon can be used at every visit by any customer who shops at your store. This is usually used as a promo to customers, user lists, clubs, etc. They often have a short expiration date to limittheir use. A typical usage might be a special holiday sale, eg 10% offeverything in the store if used by a specified date. This would eliminatethe need for special price groups if the intent is that everybody who hasthe coupon code can use it. In the compiled version you can limit the number of times a multiple coupon is redeemed.
- only one time for each customer - The coupon can only be used for one visit per customer. When the same customer shops at your store a secondtime, if he/she uses the same coupon code, it will be rejected. This isprobably the most common coupon and is usually used in print ads or as a promo, eg. "$5.00 off on your next visit".
- only one time for a unique coupon code - The coupon can only be used once. Once any customer has used this code, it becomes unavailable for any other purchase. This is often used as a customer relations tool, e.g. "sorry for the inconvenience, please accept this coupon.....".
- Global or product related. You can restrict usage of a coupon in your store so that it can be used only if a specific product is ordered. You can list several product codes, any of which in the basket would make the coupon valid if the other requirements are met. Leaving the product code blank means that customers do not have to order a specific product as long as they meet the other requirements the store owner has specified. If you check the box to the left of the product code list, and are using the percentage discount, only those products in the code list will be used in the calculation using the qualifying products subtotal. If you do not check the box, the percentage discount will be applied against the order total. Youcan use a wildcard for the product list, e.g. 1AA* would make all productsbeginning with 1AA eligible for the coupon discount.
- Use instant coupons on the individual product pages and for specific products. These coupons are redeemed at the product page and instantly appear in the basket as a line item discount related to a specific product. Unlike the global checkout coupons, customers can redeem multiple instant coupons in a single order. From a marketing standpoint this gives the merchant the opportunity to offer a promo code atthe product level which gives an impending event (expiration of the promo)to encourage sales while not lowering the value of the product with an overtprice discount.
- You can restrict the coupon usage down to the attribute level. For example, you can limit the coupon to product codes beginning with 1AA and the attribute "Version" with the specific option value of "4.5". The format for the input would be 1AA*~Version~4.5|
- If you precede the product list with a - (minus) character, the coupon will be excluded from use with those products.
- You can limit the coupon to be used only if the customer is in a specific zone. You can use ONE of six possible zone limitations for each coupon (ship to: country, state or zip; bill to: country, state or zip).
- Appropriate error messages are displayed when coupons don't meet theusage criteria established by the store owner. When the shopper entersa coupon code that is not valid based on the criteria you establish, he/she will see an error message just below the coupon codeinput when the page is re-displayed.
- In admin, the coupons can be easily displayed and edited. The couponsare displayed in a table format with configurable number of coupons per page displayed. The entire coupon database is searchable by coupon code or beginning portion of the coupon code.
- Expired coupons can be removed from the database (to cut down on disk usage) one at a time or in mass. In admin, you can either put a checkin the remove column and select update or select purge expired coupons, then select update.
- A historical database, which can be imported and analyzed in database orspreadsheet software, is maintained on all coupons used. The couponuz.dbfcan be FTPd to your PC for further analysis in MS Access, MS Excel, or other data management software. This could be useful in determining which coupons bring you the most activity. The number of uses for each coupon is also displayed in the admin table.
- The coupon usage report module can provide historical data within your admin. You can summarize or list each coupon used for a specific time period. You can also restrict the output to a specific coupon code or a string of characters in a coupon code. This latter is useful when you have assigneda series of coupons to an affiliate or advertising campaign. You can determine how much business was brought in with the coupons from various sources.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. The Extra Customer Fields module allows you to specify additional customer information fields within your store, and also provides template-based layout control over the customer account screen and the customer information within all checkout screens. The extra customer fields can be displayed on all account and checkout screens, including the following: - ACNT - Add / Edit Customer Account Screen,
- OINF - Checkout: Customer Information Screen,
- OSEL - Checkout: Shipping / Payment Selection Screen,
- OPAY - Checkout: Payment Screen, and
- INVC - Invoice Screen
The Extra Customer Fields module supports all standard Miva Merchant fields, and also allows a variety of input types for extra fields, including text field, text area, checkbox, radio button, single select list, multi-select list, country dropdown, and state dropdown - all configurable from within the module's easy to use administration interface. FeaturesGlobal Settings Global Settings allows you to optionally set indicators to distinguish fields as required, optional, or both. Indicators can be shown before or after the field prompt. CSS styles are also applied to field prompts and input elements to indicate fields as required, optional, and/or invalid (when data is missing or incorrectly formatted). |
| | | Standard Fields Extra Customer Fields allows you to control even the standard customer fields. This administration section allows you to change the prompt for a field and to set optional field attributes, such as CSS selectors, size, and even JavaScript event handling code. Prompts can be dynamically controlled using OpenTokens - the prompt fields fully support all OpenToken functionality. |
| | | Templates The layout of the account screen and the customer portions of the checkout screens can be customized using templates and tokens. Each screen has its own template, and fields and their associated prompts are displayed via tokens. For example, %nbecf_fname_s% is replaced with the input box for the Ship-to First Name. There is also a template for the admin screen. Administrators can view and edit the data entered by customers within the Miva Merchant administration utility. The admin template determines the layout of this administration screen. |
| | | Extra Customer Fields Extra fields can be defined to collect additional information from your customers, either during checkout, account creation, or both. Each extra field is assigned a name, a prompt, an interface type, and optionally a default value and attributes. The name is hidden from customers, but is used as the token to represent this field within the templates. The prompt is the text label shown to customers. Several interface types are available, including text field, text area, dropdown menu, checkbox, radio button, single select, multi select, and even states and countries dropdowns with data pulled from the corresponding store databases. If a field is given a default value, that default value will be present when an empty form is loaded. Attributes are used to specify CSS selectors, sizes, and JavaScript event handlers. Finally, each field can be designated as required or optional. Dropdowns, radio buttons, and single and multi select fields also have options. These options are defined on a separate screen for each field, and can be reordered as needed. |

Discount your product base prices based on the number of items ordered of identical products, eg 1-3 = standard price, 4-6 = lower, etc. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
Features: - Discount product prices based on quantity ordered - Easy from - to price breaks in a single input - Unlimited price break ranges - Fixed price or percentage off regular price - Optional automatic start and stop dates for volume pricing - Use our time zone offset to adjust the time that the date changes - Each product can have different price breaks and dates - Can use price groups with percentage discounts - Optionally apply price group discount "on top of" volume price breaks - Can exclude price groups from volume pricing - Can exclude all except specific price groups - Hide or display table which depicts price breaks - Include a quantity input in the table on category pages - Volume price can be applied on identical products or can amalgamate - Can amalgamate discounts of different attributes in the same product - Optional "as low as" to replace regular price - Optional strike thru of regular price followed by volume price - Can put all or some of your store products on sale within seconds - Can remove all volume pricing in the store within seconds - Flat file import for quick update - Optional wild card can apply same volume pricing to all products - Export volume pricing settings to flat file - Use render tokens to place "as low as" and table on applicable screens - Licensed by domain, unlimited stores under one MIVA Merchant mall pay no additional license fee
Feature Details: This module's admin interface provides an easy to enter "from - to cost" format. You can literally have as many ranges as you want to type in. See the image below for example syntax. You can either use actual values to replace the base price or percent of price to be subtracted from the product base price. These price differentials are added directly in the admin interface under the product edit screen. You only apply these price differentials in the products that you want to use them.
This module applies the price in your low, high, cost groupings. If you do not include a grouping at the single item level, it will use the method for pricing in your store. It onlyactivates if you include a low, high, cost grouping. For example: 6|10|12% 11|20|14% 21|999|16%
The module only uses price groups when using the percentoff discount calculation. If you enter fixed prices for the quantity ranges, then price groups are ignored. Keep in mindthat the percent discounts could be over and above the discountalready given if you are using price groups.
You can opt to not give the price group an additional discount above the volume pricing. You can even make all or some price groups not eligible for volumepricing and hide the table from them completely. Conversely, you can exclude everybody from volume pricing except specific price group members. Customers must be logged in to identify the price group they are in before the volume pricing module can qualify or disqualify them from volume pricing if you are using the price group restrictions.
The percentage discounting method subtracts the percent discount from the base price. Base price does not include attribute prices. To apply the percentage, simply include the percent symbol (%) in the line. If you are using cost method for your store (other than price groups), you will not be able to use the percentage discounting method. Instead, use the actual value method.
If you are using another third party module which overrides prices in the basket and recomputes them using the price in the product record, youmay not be able to use this module. Other third party modules may notrecognize that it needs to apply the calculations in this module.
The module recognizes identical products. Hence different product codes will change the product enough that the discountwon't apply. For example 3 red shirts and 6 blue shirts willnot give the discount of 9 shirts. Rather, they'll get the discount rate of 3 for one of the line items and 6 for the other.
You can amalgamate quantities so in the example above, as long as the product code is the same and the color variation is done with attributes, all 9 items would get the volume discount for 9 items. You have the option for each product code to amalgamate quantities or treat varied attributes as different products.
You can optionally include a table on the product (PROD) andcategory (CTGY) screens displaying the rates as generatedfrom the products' volume discount record. You can optionallyhave a quantity input in that table display on the category screen. These options areconfigured through admin.
If you want to have a sale on one or moreitems. Simply set the volume to 1 or more with a specific discount percentage and you have a sale with as low as display. You can use the token %product_price_f% to further highlight that witha strike thru. To make this feature even more useful, youcan enter a starting and ending date for the sale so that itwill start and end automatically.
For ease of entry, a flat file import module is included. You can put all product codes in the flat file or use an asterisk (*) and one lineof "rules" to apply the volume price to all products in thestore. Create a storewide sale, e.g. 10% off in seconds with a specific start and stop date. Then just as quickly removeall settings at your leisure after the sale. There is also a volume price export so you can quickly build your flat file, then edit or add to it. This is useful when you want to have a storewide sale on all products butretain volume prices on your regularly discounted items. Export the volume prices. Import your sale settings. Importyour volume discounts on the few you want to maintain at pre-sale prices. Upon the order completion the module creates a temporary directory with cryptic name (you can define the length of the random cryptic directory name), locks it with user name/password and copies there all ordered products or documents that are set up for download (or remote access - e.g. at courses or member restricted websites). Beyond the (optional) login/password, it allows an additional security with (optional) crosschecking of cookies, IP address, browser version and several other parameters. You can also set the account expiration time after which the directory will be automatically removed. All this runs with symbolic links, it means the original files or documents are stored out of the public area, in the Miva data directory and they are not transferred or copied physically. So for example if you have a software product or a document for download of 1MB and 100 active customers, it does not take 100MB of disk space, but still just 1MB - and additionally the account creation is much faster and less resource intensive than when copying whole files. Notifications with the download links may be sent to the customer either immediately upon the purchase with a selected payment method (e.g. a credit card) or after approving the order manually from the Ultra Batch Report. If you do not own the Ultra Batch module, you can use the MmHTML (Merchant Notification Email module) instead of the MmHTMLc (Customer Confirmation Email module) and forward the received Merchant notification e-mail to the customer after approving the purchase. - Software, Content, Website access delivery through protected URLs
- Multiple protection: cryptic URL name, password, IP address, host name, cookie, browser version, language settings,...
- MmPASS optionally either re-uses Miva Merchant passwords or generates own secure random passwords of defined length.
- Account expiration time may be set from seconds to years long
- Subsequent orders of a customer may be optionally kept in his personal folder or in a new folder with separate settings and protection.
- No neccessity to set up each product individually. All files may be set up quickly with a single customizable name pattern to avoid complicated settings.

Set minimum and maximum quantity order rules. You can establish a required minimum number of each product that must be ordered. You can also establish a maximum number of each product that can be in a single order. The admin control panel permits the store owner to specify all products (as a wildcard) in a store to have the same quantity rules or apply individual and different quantity rules for each product code which will be restrained by order quantities. For ease of use, the individual product ranges are entered in a single admin input box rather than from tabs at the individual edit screens. This allows the store owner to build the quantity rules in a word processor and simply copy and paste hundreds of codes into the input box quickly. When the customer selects an out-of-range amount, the quantity is adjusted to fall within the permissable range and a non-fatal message is displayed telling the customer that the quantity was adjusted. The store owner can configure the text in the out-of-range message box or leave the box out of the store altogether by deleting the override message text in admin. I have set quantity rules for one product in my store. It is a limited quantity items so if more than one person is testing the functionality, the stock level may be depleted and prevent adequate testing. The product is product code 1S_00155 and the quantity is set to minimum of 2 and maximum of 18. Because the minimum is set to 2, you will see that the quantity input already has a 2 in it. If you change it to 1 and Add to Basket, you will see the override message and the quantity raised to 2. The module is MMUI and OpenUI compatible. When using the MMUI, two single line edits of the mmui.mv are necessary.
New in the compiled version is the ability to change the quantity input
into a drop down select list with multiple values. For example, setting the multiple
to 2 will result in a select list of 2, 4, 6, 8, etc upto the maximum. Added
token support for the OpenUI Tokens and Viking Coders product templates.

Feature Details. Provide order status change emails to customers, keep track of order changes with backend administrative notes, and provide customers with an easy login view of their order status and invoice. Easily manage customer communication with this module and the related modules below.
The membership system allows you to automatically include customers into price groups when they log into your store and is based on their prior purchase history. You set up your price groups as you would any price groups and assign the applicable products to those groups. Then you specify a trigger level required for the customer to be a member of each group. You can insert tokens into the applicable screens, e.g. customer edit, welcome back returning and new customers. Then when they log in, the token runs the order history for the status codes you specify (e.g. F for filled), sums the totals, and checks to see if they meet a membership level. If they do, they are inserted into the highest qualified price group.
In addition to enhanced communication with your customers, you may want to manage product levels associated with orders and cancelled orders. Miva Merchant allows you to track stock levels of your products online. As products are placed in the basket, the level is decremented. If the order is not completed, the products are returned to the shelf when you delete expired baskets. If the order is cancelled, the products are not automatically returned to stock in the core Miva Merchant. The customer and product management modules interface with the built in internal inventory management (IM) system to improve the overall IM usability.
In the administrative interface:- Shipping tracking numbers, entered through admin, display in the customer account and the status update email (can be linked directly to the shipper tracking page)
- Change the order status and optionally send the customer an order status email which can vary based on the style of the status email chosen. Email styles are created using templates with tokens for insertion of specific variables. Can update several orders at once with the bulk status update feature.
- Run an end of day-productivity report for all dates, a range of dates, or a specific date displaying all records or just the records with a specific status. A convenient link to the order edit screen makes viewing an individual order quick and easy.
- Re-establish inventory levels for a product when an order has been cancelled (auto-restock) or new quantities are put in your inventory.
- Run a Stock Level Report to determine which items are nearing depletion or all products being managed for inventory. The module admin console includes an easily editable interface to change the inventory levels of all/any products in the report.
- Export a flat file of product codes, quantity, and product name for easy mass editing/importing or to interface with your office backend systems or for re-import into Merchant itself.
- Additional order related data can be added in the admin screen; employee code making the status change, date of the change, narrative notes about the order, numeric value (e.g. for adjustments). Multiple admin updates can be made to each order's record by any department within your store (packing, shipping, accounting, returns, etc).
From the customer account record:- Customers can view the status of all of their orders, including update information (e.g. tracking numbers) which is entered by the store owner through admin. The order status history display can be modified by the store owner with a template and tokens. You can even include hot links to carriers' tracking systems with the number filled in. You'll need to enter your carrier tracking URLs into the module's admin configuration screen. The number of carrier URLs you include in admin is not limited.
- Customers can view their previous invoices as long as they are in online batches or still in the unbatched orders.
- Even after orders and batches are deleted (you may delete processed orders to save disk space) the customer can still review the basic products listed in their order along with the shipping and payment info.
- Customers can re-order/duplicate a previous order with a single click from the invoice (order details page) which are still in online batches (i.e. not deleted) or as yet unbatched orders.
Be sure to take a look at our other related modules which can enhance store - customer - vendor communication even further. They include: - Contact Manager - provide a support interface without needlessly including your email on your store's pages for spam harvesters to capture
- Event Reminder - customers and store admin can schedule reminders to themselves or others for specific events/tasks at specific times
- Follow-on Contact - generate after sales communication at pre-determined points of time in the future
- Mail Manager - generate template emails (with tokens) as HTML or text as an auto-response, e.g. as customer order confirmation or even welcome emails
Converts your category and product links to single parameter URLs so that search engines will index your Merchant pages. Many search engines will only index URLs which have just one value after the ? character. This shortened URL is swapped with the original URL links for the category names in the category tree and the product names on the various list pages and category pages. Alternatively, you can use URLs which are similar to the original URL links, but with the Store_Code removed. These shorter (modified URLs) can be indexed by most search engines. By using this method, you don't need an external handler file and will still get the store indexed. Optionally adds rollover bullets to the left of the category names in the category column. These bullets contain links in the standard URL format for Merchant so that each category has two different links on the storefront. As an added feature, if the store is a single store in the domain, the URL is optimized for search engines by removing the redundant store code which has been found to hinder search engines. This optimized URL is used with the optional bullets in the category column and also with the thumbnails on category pages. Optionally adds text or image below the thumb on category pages, e.g. Click to Enlarge or More Info. This module works with a handler file such as our free store4.mvc (compiled store4.mv). The Swap Link module can further enhance your chances of search engine ranking by producing static sitelink*.htm files which list all of your categories and products with the single parameter link. This feature is configurable to allow you to optimize the sitelink pages with meta tags, key word rich text, etc. The site link pages are generated very quickly through admin. You can optionally include the price and a brief description of the item. The brief description uses either the Flexible Product Description module pseudofield called "brief" or the first 100 characters of the full product description. As long as you don't go overboard with your narrative (top of page) text, each page will be less than 100K. If multiple pages are required to include your whole catalog, a link to the next page is included on each page. Limitations: OpenUI look and feel only. While it can be used in a MMUI store (like this one), the editing is complex and I do not provide instructions so that you could do it yourself, as anticipated support would be significant. Currently has not been tested with cgi type Merchant URLs, so I can't certify that it works with them. Currently is not compatible with Viking Coders category templates. If there is enough interest, I will make an effort to include that compatibility. If you have replaced the standard layouts (product line or product expanded) with custom, 3rd party module solutions, then the swap links will not be generated for those particular pages. Category links use the standard category tree (column). If you have removed the left hand category column, then the swap links cannot be generated. Price: $20 Upgrade Cost: $0

Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. Offer a free shipping option when any one of several parameters are met. Use the default layout within the existing user interface or a template with tokens which allows you to customize the method selection table. Select list or radio button group can be used to display the available methods. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
Features: <- Sort shipping methods in the order you want them - Template with tokens allows methods as select list or radio buttons - Country configurable template header - Default layout for those who do not have skills with HTML and tokens - Free shipping option based on order subtotal - Free shipping option based on number of products - Free shipping option based on weight of the order - Free shipping option can be limited to specific availability or price groups - Free shipping option can be limited to specific location - Free shipping option can be related to specific products - Label for free shipping is configurable - Configurable default message if no options are calculated - When only one option, list is replaced with a single line display - Can hide or display shipping methods by ship to country location - Can have a different configurable message on the order payment and invoice screens and the notification emails for each shipping method using tokens
|
Feature Details. Sort your shipping methods by cost, module name, or method name. This Miva Merchant module can be used in conjunction with shipping modules which dynamically calculate cost, such as the UPS modules or the various World, State, or ZIP Code Zone modules.
The free shipping option can be implemented when the subtotal of the order or the number of products in the order exceeds the thresholds you establish in admin. Or you can allow free shipping when the weight of the order is less than your specified threshold. You also have theoption to give free shipping to all members of one or more designated availability groups or price groups. You can further configure the free shipping option by limiting it to specific countries (USA can be all states or just the contiguous states). You can also remove the free shipping option if certain products are ordered. It also has free shipping override, ie if every product in the basket is in your list of free shipping codes, then shipping is free no matter what the other parameters are set to. You definewhat the free shipping label displays, e.g. Free Ground Shipping.
The module also provides a default message if there are no shipping methods which can be calculated. This message replaces the default message in Merchant. While you can leave it as Unable to calculate shipping methods, you can change that to be more customer friendly, e.g. We will contact you to adjust shipping costs or To be determined.
Easily use the default layout within the existing user interface or a template with tokens which allows you to customize the method selection table. With the template you can replace the select list with a radio button group. You can also add a Select One option in the select list layout. When only one shipping method exists with the order, the list of methods is replaced with a single line display and no selection is required. The method value is passed as a hidden input to the next screen. The template can have a header section which is configurable for every different country or group of countries.
You can hide or limit the shipping methods based on ship to country. Hence, you can designate certain shipping methods for domestic and others for international shipping. For US, you can even designate the continental US; excluding Alaska and Hawaii from the domestic shipping methods. No need to buy a separate module to hide certain shipping methods from international shipping.
Each method can have a different configurable message (text or html) which is displayed usingtokens. This message can be displayed on the order payment screen (the screen after shippingmethod is selected) and on the invoice screen. It can also be in the customer and merchant notification emails if they can implement module tokens in the format %module|sortship|html_message%. This eliminates the need to install a separate, custom module for checkout messages or rely on theshipping module to have the message capability (many do not have it). The Power Search module is a plugin module which implements field specific, keyword searching within a Miva Merchant 2.x storefront. License is for ONE mall. Within that single mall, it can be used in multiple stores without additional license. The purpose of powrsrch.mv is to allow a customer to search one or more fields which are made selectable by the store owner. The store owner can choose any fields within the products.dbf structure to be available. If you have an altered products.dbf structure, it will even allow selection of those additional fields (see screen shot below). You can also exclude a word or phrase. An example of an exclude word usage might be: You sell health food but want the ability for customers to NOT list ingredients they are allergic to. So in the product name field you might have Soup. Then if you have a field in your database called Ingredient the customer could check the name and ingredient fields for searching. In the keyword input they would put soup. In the exclude input they could put MSG. It would search both fields. If it found soup in either it would compile those products to the list. But if the word MSG appeared in either field, it would remove it from the list. Specific category, if selected, allows one category only searches. This feature may be too intimidating if you have hundreds of categories as the pull down select would be quite long.
New for the compiled version is the ability to specify a price range for the search. Also, in the compiled version we added the ability to display links to numbered pages when the search results exceed the number of matches displayed on a single page. You can use OpenUI Tokens to place the search form in several locations in your store. You also have the ability to replace the default form with one which you design with your own html (for those who know how to write html forms). The alternate html form can also be placed at one of seven different locations on the storefront screen. You'll use the default form as a template and can then add your own layout to improve the look and feel. Also if you are using the compiled Power Search AND the compiled Tell A Friend module, customers can send the search string from Power Search to friends. The store owner also has the ability to allow customers to search the category headers and footers for the search word. Because this may slow the search, you should only use it if your store has a moderate number of categories, e.g. 100 or less.
Faster servers may get decent search times with many more than that though.
Added new search algorythms "Any of these", Exact phrase", and "Start at beginning".
Store owners can create a list of words which will not be
searched in the "All of these" or "Any of these" searches. These are words like a, an, the, and, or. It will not exclude those words in the "Start at the beginning" or "Exact phrase" searches.
If you choose to use the "search single category" listing, you
can modify that from the admin control panel and only list certain categories in the select list, but provide searches of all of their sub-categories. This top down search adds greater flexibility over how broad you will allow your customers to filter the categories.
After going to the product page from a Power Search rendered search, a convenient "return to search" link on the product page will bring the customer back to the original search page if using OpenUI.
Power Search (version 4.63) has been tested with OpenDB (version 2.2)
and is compatible. In tests by James at Copernicus, the Power Search
improved the performance of the already, very fast, SQL searches.
118k products in the database, 2456 categories, two search terms "PC133 RAM"
- Normal Miva Merchant Search: ~60 seconds
- OpenDBv2 Standard Search: TT time=07s0620u
- OpenDBv2 Power Search (limit to code, name & desc fields and no
category specific search): TT time=05s0259u
For store owners who have found their searches
take too long, you can reduce the search time by only searching one or two fields. The Merchant default is eight fields, including fields such as weight. Now, how useful is that? Finally.... the store owner has control without editing the db.mv code library.
The total number of products found is displayed along with the list of products matching the search criteria.
In admin, you can view the log of search words/phrases
which your customers have used. This helps you from a marketing standpoint to determine the most sought after products. Additionally, it helps you identify keywords which might be useful to include in the narrative descriptions or the meta tag for search engine submissions.
This module works with both the MMUI and OpenUI User
Interfaces (versions 2.22-4.x). If using the MMUI, six
edits in the mmui.mv file are required,
and one optional edit if you want to remove the
archaic standard Merchant, keyword search. If you have
compiled Merchant (4.14 or newer) that requires editing
and re-compiling, so for compiled Merchant, OpenUI is
required unless you have the compiler license. If you are
using the OpenUI, Power Search plugs into the OpenUI
without editing OpenUI modules and there is no need for
compiling in Merchant 4.14 and newer.
See the screen shot below, then check
out the selected field search in our store. We have
about 600 products in our store so you can get
an idea of search speed on a moderate speed server.
The Power Search function can also be used for pre-defined form pulldowns in your store. As an example, the genre and decade searches on the left side of this screen search a specific field, with store owner pre-defined selections. This same technique can be used for things like manufacturer searches if you have a manufacturer field in your products.dbf. Price: $25 Upgrade Cost: $15

The CheckOut SuperMod allows your customers to determine the shipping method for each individual item in a single order and then the appropriate shipping and tax calculations are made to determine the total shipping amount for the entire order. Items in an order that are using the same shipping method are grouped to properly calculate the shipping price for the group of items. Now your customers can check out of your store with multiple shipping methods or shipping addresses* in the same order and the shipping is calculated properly.
Key Benefits Include:
- Advanced Shipping Screen that gives customers the ability to select a different shipping method for every item in the order
- When the Advanced Shipping Screen is used, the items in the order are internally grouped by shipping method so that items using the same shipping method are calculated and displayed together
- Customer can choose to go to Advanced Shipping Screen to ship every item via a separate shipping method or can choose to not go to the Advanced Shipping Screen and instead ship everything in the order using the same shipping method
- Configurable title for the link to the Advanced Shipping Screen from the payment/shipping selection checkout screen.
- Shipping charges from the Advanced Shipping Screen can be viewed on further checkout screens including the Screen Invoice and emailed invoice
- Return to shopping after having used the Advanced Shipping Screen and the settings are remembered for checkout and shopper is automatically taken to the Advanced Shipping Screen upon checkout
- Ability to split line items of multiple-quantity products into individual line-items for different option selections including shipping and address* selections.
- Works with existing third-party shipping modules
- Integrates and shares data with the Shipping SuperMod and Address SuperMod from Copernicus giving you even more functionality!
- When used with the Address SuperMod, each item in the order can be shipped to a different address. Upon checkout, items to common addresses using common shipping methods are grouped together, and proper shipping charges are applied to each shipment. Further, items are then grouped by address for proper tax calculations to each address in the order.
- Extra functionality for users of the OpenUI SuperMod – Special Virtual Modules and tokens are provided for advanced control over checkout displays. Bonus Virtual Module provides the ability to “Split Line Items” in the basket (normally only appears on advanced shipping screen).
Note: Multiple address selections are only available when used with the Address SuperMod.
For complete control of the checkout process the Address SuperMod™, CheckOut SuperMod™, and Shipping SuperMod™ all work together. Each item in the basket can then be shipped to a different address using a different shipping method. Shipping methods available to each address can be filtered based upon the products in the basket, the destination, etc., and shipping and tax for each shipment is calculated individually.
Product Requirements:
Uncompiled Miva Merchant v4.00-4.13 - OpenUI required.
Compiled Miva Merchant v4.14+ - Dynamic Templates for MMUI or OpenUI required.
Please Note - The CheckOut SuperMod significantly alters the checkout process of your store. The CheckOut SuperMod takes the checkout process beyond that allowed by Miva Merchant, which is why the module allows your customers to checkout of your storefront with multiple shipping methods and/or to multiple addresses (when used with the Address SuperMod) in a single order. Please be sure to test-drive this module on Miva Mia with any other third-party modules you have installed. To get a free distribution of the CheckOut SuperMod for use on Miva Mia, just fill out a Trial Request Form at http://www.copernicusllc.com/support/free/trial.

Feature Details. You can add coupons through the standard Miva Merchant admin interface and include usage criteria.
- An unlimited number of coupons can be assigned to the store and each identified with a coupon code. Once you have added the module to the store, you can add coupons in the Order Fulfillment section of the admin interface. When you select the Add icon, you will have several input fields to fill in. You must enter a unique code for your coupon. This is the code that you will give to customers so they can shop and redeem the coupon (one per order). It can be any combination of letters and/or numbers.
The compiled version has a coupon generation function. You can embed a token in your welcome email or notification emails generated with our
Mail Manager module. A unique coupon code will be created and is based on the coupon template you designate. You can have an unlimited number of templates and an unlimited number of coupons copied from them. If you are not using our Mail Manager, you can still activate the generator by placing the token in the invoice header if you are using the OpenUI.
If you have a lot of coupons you want to load into the system quickly, the compiled version has a coupon import from flat file module
- An optional expiration date can be included which will prevent its use if the date has passed. Enter it in the year, month, day format, eg. 20000724 would be July 24, 2000. If you leave this field blank the coupon will never expire. However, you can still delete it manually through the admin interface.
- A fixed value OR percentage discount off the order total is assigned to each coupon. The default is fixed value/price,
eg $5.00 off the order total. A maximum redemption value can be assigned to each coupon in Merchant 4.x.
If you enter the letter S in the field to the right, the
coupon will be used to allow free shipping (compiled version only) for the entire order.
If you use the percent calculation, this value can be any value, including zero.
- Based on your state's tax requirements, the coupon can be designated to reduce the sales tax or not reduce it. The coupon's tax effect is on the order total, not on individual products. For example, in some states, a store coupon reduces the cumulative value of products purchased before the sales tax is applied, hence you would want it to reduce tax. The exception to doing this is if your products are likely to be non-taxable, making a coupon reduce tax could result in a negative tax calculation.
They often have a short expiration date to limit their use. A typical usage might be a special holiday sale, eg 10% off everything in the store if used by a specified date. This would eliminate the need for special price groups if the intent is that everybody who has the coupon code can use it.
- only one time for each customer - The coupon can only be used for one visit per customer. When the same customer shops at your store a second time, if he/she uses the same coupon code, it will be rejected. This is probably the most common coupon and is usually used in print ads or as a promo, eg. "$5.00 off on your next visit".
- only one time for a unique coupon code - The coupon can only be used once. Once any customer has used this code, it becomes unavailable for any other purchase. This is often used as a customer relations tool, eg "sorry for the inconvenience, please accept this coupon.....".
- You can restrict usage of a coupon in your store so that it can be used only if a specific product code is ordered. You can list several product codes, any of which in the basket would make the coupon valid if the other requirements are met. Leaving the product code blank means that customers do not have to order a specific product as long as they meet the other requirements the store owner has specified. If you check the box to the left of the product code list AND are using the percentage discount, only those products in the code list will be used in the calculation using the qualifying products subtotal. If you do not check the box, the percentage discount will be applied against the order total. In Merchant 4.0, you can use a wildcard for the product list, e.g. 1AA* would make all products beginning with 1AA eligible for the coupon discount.
New in the compiled version of the coupon module is the ability to restrict the coupon usage down to the attribute level. For example, you can limit the coupon to product codes beginning with 1AA and the attribute "Version" with the option of "4.5". The
format for the input would be 1AA*~Version~4.5|
Alternatively, if you precede the product list with a - (minus) character, the coupon will be excluded from use with those product codes. You canNOT specify it to the attribute level like the include above. (compiled version only)
- Appropriate error messages are displayed when coupons don't meet the usage criteria established by the store owner. When the shopper enters a coupon code at checkout that is not valid based on the criteria you establish, he/she will see an error message just below the coupon code input when the checkout form is re-displayed. One coupon can be redeemed per order on the checkout page.
- In admin, the coupons can be easily displayed and edited. The coupons are displayed in a table format with configurable number of coupons per page displayed. The entire coupon database is searchable by coupon code or portion of the coupon code.
- Expired coupons can be removed from the database (to cut down on disk usage) one at a time or in mass. In admin, you can either put a check in the remove column and select update or select purge expired coupons, then select update.
- A historical database, which can be imported and analyzed in database or spreadsheet software, is maintained on all coupons used. The couponuz.dbf can be FTPd to your PC for further analysis in MS Access, MS Excel, or other data management software. This could be useful in determining which coupons bring you the most activity. The number of uses for each coupon is displayed in the admin table in Merchant 4.0
New in the compiled version is the coupon usage report. You can summarize or list each coupon used for a specific time period. You can also restrict the output to a specific coupon code or a string of characters in a coupon code. This latter is useful when you have assigned a series of coupons to an affiliate or advertising campaign. You can determine how much business was brought in with the coupons from various sources. The compiled version of this module can use OpenTokens instead of hook points within OpenObjects. The OpenDesigner screen lists the OpenObjects which can replace all or some screens within the OpenUI user interface. The OpenObjects provide a template screen which contains the existing hook points (backward compatibility), OpenToken capability, and the ability to move output around within the OpenObject screen. Since the tokens in this module conform to OpenToken functionality, they may be used in other template type screens.
MMUI and OpenUI compatible. If you are using MMUI, there are two required edits in the mmui.mv. If using MMUI in
a compiled version of Merchant (4.14 and newer), you will need to edit and recompile the mmui.mv (expensive proposition). Thus, with compiled Merchant, we recommend using OpenUI instead of the MMUI user interface. Price: $35 Upgrade Cost: $25
