Back to Top6 Other Page Templates Viking Coders / Miva CentralProvides tokens and templates formatting for some of the "other" pages of Merchant. You can create templates and assign them to some of the pages of Merchant (currently the module supports template assignment to BASK (basket page), PLST (product listing), LOGN (customer login), and Missing Attributes), Upsell, Search, etc. In addition, you can create a template for you own page, create a "screen" variable for it and link to it directly. The category and product pages are still best handled by the Category Page Templates and Product Page Templates module, the storefront by the Storefront Template Module, and the search page by the Search Manager) The templates are created and modified exactly like the templates in the other template modules. However since they are assigned to screens rather than products or categories, that part is a bit different. The way Merchant works is that most of the pages are assigned "identifiers" which Merchant uses to determine what page is to be generated. For example, if the variable Screen is set to BASK, Merchant knows that it needs to display the basket screen. The module intercepts that process to use templates to display the screen instead of Merchant's default screen. This is done by assigning templates to the identifier. The module comes pre-configured with a number of different templates which you can assign to the screens of Merchant. For example, the "Basket Page" template can be assigned to the "BASK" screen to display the basket screen using that template. NOTE REGARDING COMPATIBILITY: This module has the same compatibility issues with other modules as the original template modules. This module totally replaces the portion of the OpenUI (or MMUI if you are using it) that displays the pages it intercepts and is not compatible with any other module which needs to hook into that page unless the developer of that module has specifically made their module compatible. And given that this module is so new, very few modules are completely compatible with it. This module provides for an easy-to-use manner for developers to provide tokens that can be used to insert their module's HTML into the pages. And these tokens can be registered in the module's admin interface. NOTE/WARNING: although there are a number of people successfully using this module, given the large number of tokens and attempts to handle many pages of Merchant you can expect bugs to arise and for the module to be missing functionality. I'll work diligently to fix them but please don't purchase this module if you can't accept the possibility of some issue with the module keeping you from accomplishing what you're after. Similarly, given the current state of the documentation (there is no documentation on the available tokens but most of them are present in the pre-configured templates) if you're not familiar with the other template modules and the use of tokens in templates, you might want to wait until the documentation is completed. You can add as many additional checkoutquestions to your form as you want, within reason. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
Feature Details. The responses are exported to a delimited text file which can beimported into most database management systems for further analysis. Youcan also have those responses appear in the Miva Merchant Email notification and batchprocessing (modified email and batch modules included in the zip file). Use the module for the customer to add specialinstructions for the order, collect responses from survey or pollquestions, allow the customer to fill out gift card messages, include salesman orrepresentative code, etc. The admin interface allows you to build the form withyour store's questions using standard html syntax. Hence,you can make the response collection table match the restof your store's look and feel. You can have text, radio, select drop down list, text area, and checkbox inputs designed the way you want them. Add css if you like or use typical fonts and table tags. You can place the questions on one of the three checkout screens. You simply add the tokens to the page templates per the install doc. You can also specify one or moreof the questions to be required. Customers will not be able to completethe checkout if they do not respond to the required questions. You can purge old questions from the active file and place them in ahistorical file in order to improve response time during order batchprocessing retrieval. The optional order batch retrieval uses the modified core batch report which is included in the zip distribution file. You can limit the display of Addendumquestions based on specific product codes. If you list productcodes in the admin input, the questions will only be displayedif one of those products is in the basket at checkout. Youcan also use the wild card product code like 1AA*. If theapplicable products all begin with the same characters, youcan use the asterisk. This can only be used for the beginningcharacters in the product codes. You can alsolimit the display of questions to specific ship to countries. You can optionally includethe questions in the emails along with the responses by using the modified email modules which are included in the zip distribution file.If using our Mail Manager (sold separately) module you can have a question (checkbox) which will trigger a specific email, e.g. opt-in mailinglist signup. You can also include the questions and responseson the invoice (last page after payment completes). Theresponses for the batch report are retrieved from an indexeddatabase for faster access. You can alsoattach a fee to a specific answer to one question if youplace the questions on either the customer information orshipping/payment selection screens. The included Addendum View report featureallows you to search (within admin) the addendum filefor specific responses. For example, you might have a questionfor a specific requested shipping date. Simply search the filefor orders which have requested the delayed shipping for thatdate. The order numbers can be returned and fed into our EZ Batchreport (sold separately) for a tailored report for a specific shipping date. Another popular use of Addendum is to collect the salesman or representativecode with an order. Not only can you display the code in the batch report,but if you use Addendum View to create a list of orders attributed to thatsalesman, you can make a batch printout for each salesmanwith only their orders on it if you are using our EZ Batch Report (sold separately). You can also include the Addendum responses in the order export file that EZ Batch creates. Limitation: When used in a store which uses PayFlowlink, PayPal or iTransact payment systems, you will need to placeyour questions on either the customer information screenor the shipping and payment selection screen. Thosepayment systems transport the customer to another domain.Hence, the module needs to save the responses to a filebefore the customer is transported off-site. When thecustomer returns from the off-site payment screens backto your store, the responses will be retrieved for savingto flat file or display in your merchant notification email. The included modified merchant email and batch reports will display the Addendum resposes. Additionally, the batch report can provide page breaks between each order for better printouts (incoices). Also, the merchant notification email allows you to insert tokens in the subject line so you can include things like the order number, order total, and customer name in the subject of the email. Compare this module with our competitors' pro or advanced or ultimate versions. Those are just words tacked onto a module name. Don't let our low price fool you - compare features and you will find this module probably contains all of the features found in theirs plus we have several additional features. The Addendum module has been in use since Merchant version 1.x and continually enhanced with each version. Our competitors will try to keep up, but the simple choice is, why get a shadow when you can get the "original". The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. TemplatesThe layout of the account screen and the customer portions of the checkout screens can be customized using templates and tokens. There is also a template for the admin screen. Administrators can view and edit the data entered by customers within the Miva Merchant administration utility. Extra Customer FieldsExtra fields can be defined to collect additional information from your customers, either during checkout, account creation, or both. Each extra field is assigned a name, a prompt, an interface type, and optionally a default value and attributes. The name is hidden from customers, but is used as the token to represent this field within the templates. The prompt is the text label shown to customers. Several interface types are available, including text field, text area, dropdown menu, checkbox, radio button, single select, multi select, and even states and countries dropdowns with data pulled from the corresponding store databases. If a field is given a default value, that default value will be present when an empty form is loaded. Attributes are used to specify CSS selectors, sizes, and JavaScript event handlers. Finally, each field can be designated as required or optional. Dropdowns, radio buttons, and single and multi select fields also have options. These options are defined on a separate screen for each field, and can be reordered as needed. |   |

You can launch the Contact Manager form from a button in the category column, in the nav bar or elsewhere within Merchant or from a static page. You can also easily use a http link format for launching the Contact Manager form from static pages or within Merchant. Assign the inquiry. The Contact Manager allows you to assign the contact record to a specific technician or department with ease. That technician can then find their active contacts easily. User interface look and feel. The Contact Manager form characteristics are controlled from the module's admin configuration screen. At the admin level you can change category column button text, optional category column button image, email subject, email to address, contact screen title, customer email prompt, customer inquiry prompt, background color, font face, font size, font color, message for the submission form, send button text, and optional send button image. Even for the html novice, the form's characteristics are easily altered in admin. In Merchant 5.x you can go a step farther if you are familiar with the store morph technology (SMT) and page template editing by fully customizing every aspect of the form. With the Merchant 5.x built in SMT you can make changes to the page and even rollback changes if you don't like what you see. Customer can choose department. The module allows the customer to select the target to send the inquiry to with a select list option. This expedites the delivery to the specific technician/department's email address. As with the uncompiled version, the email addresses are hidden from email harvesting spammers. Field inclusion and validation. Department codes, descriptions and email addresses are configured through admin. The standard collection fields are name, email, subject, department, and inquiry. However, you can also have an unlimited number of extra fields in the form. These fields can be required or optional. If required and the customer does not provide a response, the form will validate and redisplay so the missing info can be supplied. What extra fields you create and use is dependant on how you will use this contact form; e.g. requests for info, pricing, availability, product details, billing, shipping, or even for customer surveys prior to checkout. Autoresponse receipt verification. When the customer submits their inquiry, the module can optionally send them an autoresponse that you have received their inquiry and how soon you will get back to them. That autoresponse email is composed and customized by you through the admin panel. You can also include the contact tracking number in the subject of the contact emails and responses, e.g. [EP #925]: How do I..... Searchable contact records. The admin section allows you to search one one or more criteria to find messages you are interested in. You can then edit the status and/or respond to the sender. OpenUI Supermod is an excellent module designed to allow site control beyond any other means. It allows micro-control at high speeds, instead of using bulky modules that take over entire screens and take longer to load. However, it's kind of difficult to learn, and it takes some time to find the hook points and use the SuperMod admin to make up a Virtual Module (VMod). I've found that the benefits are worth the effort, but I sure would have loved a shortcut to the VMods I wanted.
Well, this DoublePlus VMod Pack has eight highly useful VMods to give you that shortcut. Even better, you can modify all of these easily in the SuperMod admin by simply replacing the text you don't want with the text you do want - without knowing MivaScript! These VMods are in a single Zip file for your convenience.
1. Change Email to E-mail: Consistency is highly important in a web site from a usability standpoint. Miva uses Email, while most sites use E-mail. So, if you prefer E-mail, then this VMod is for you!
2. Login and Account Screen Enhancements: This VMod allows you to make many changes on the login and account screens for a more customer-friendly account creation, edit and login process. It changes all instances of Login to Sign In. It has replaced text in several other areas.
3. United States Only Account and Checkout Changes: This VMod is for businesses that sell only in the United States. It changes some of the labels on the account creation/edit screen and removes the "Other State/Province" field. Be sure to go to the Miva Admin and choose Countries and unclick all countries other than the United States - this will make United States appear without a drop down list. Then, go to States and remove "Outside US" from the states list to remove it from the drop down list.
4. Change Code to Item #: This VMod changes every instance of Code to Item #. If you prefer a different word, install this VMod, then edit it in the SuperMod admin to change all instances of Item # to what you want.
5. Change "Price" to "Your Price": I like "Your Price" better than simply "Price", especially when I use Price Groups. You may want to use something else, which only takes editing the VMod in the SuperMod Admin to make the changes.
6. "Ship Via" and "Pay With" Changes: Ship Via and Pay With are not very descriptive. So I made this VMod to change them. You can go in and change them to whatever you want.
7. Better Error Message: Changes "One or more required fields were not filled out correctly." to "Missing Information: One or more fields are not filled out correctly. Please look for items in RED below." Now, isn't that better?
8. Put Proper Spacing in City State Zip in Checkout: Have you been annoyed by the lack of spaces in the City,StateZip output on the checkout and invoice screens? How unprofessional does that look? Well, here's the fix!

To create an RSS feed out of your products, you first create an RSS template which is then saved in the RSS template manager. After that, all you do is click a link to create the RSS document. This makes it very easy to re-create RSS documents after you've updated your store and products have changed.
• use the RSS Feed manager to include RSS feeds from the outside world in your store pages. Put them on existing pages, or make custom pages for your feeds.
• use a layout manager with tokens to customize how RSS feeds are displayed in your store.
