Back to TopA robust inventory tracking module that provides you with the ability to track inventory down to the option level (combination of options actually; large red, large green, etc.).
Unlike the stock Merchant inventory feature, this module lets you define as many inventory notification "levels" as you want each with it's own inventory cut-off. For each level you can configure emails to be sent as well as determine what action, if any, is to be taken when the product's inventory reaches that level. You can configure the levels to take no action, prevent the sale of the product, or prevent the display of the product (by making the product inactive). So you could have a level for "low inventory" and assign a cut-off of say 3 items to it and that notification level will be triggered and send you an email notifying you that inventory is getting low. You could also specify a second level of "out of stock" and assign a cut-off of 0 items to it. When the inventory reaches the cut-off for "low inventory" it will send out emails as configured for that level and prevent further sales of the module.
The inventory count is adjusted as the customer adds the product to their basket. However, the module doesn't wait until you delete expired baskets to retrieve inventory. It can be configured to dynamically sweep the inventory of expired baskets back into stock. It sweeps every time the product is displayed so no inventory "lingers" in expired baskets. It can also be done from within the module's admin and the inventory display on the individual product's "Inventory Manager" page shows you how many of the product are currently in "unexpired" baskets (the expired baskets already having been cleaned of inventory before the count is displayed).
The module will let you track inventory for any combination of attributes and options that a product might have (you can even track inventory for "checkbox" type attributes; I don't know why anyone would want to but I'm sure someone will eventually discover that they need to).
In addition, instead of tracking inventory by "count", you can select to track a product in "simple" mode; e.g. you can assign a particular notification level to a product (eg. "in stock" or "out of stock") but the inventory count itself does not change. The inventory level stays the same until you change it in admin. The ability to track in simple mode is an option for each product/attribute. So you can track some of your items in "simple" mode while using the full capability of the module in tracking the inventory of others.
The module has the ability to display the inventory and control the display on the products, category, search, and product listing pages. It also has tokens for use with our Template modules as well as the OpenUI.

As a MIVA Merchant store owner you are able to see how many people come to your store and abandon baskets, even after placing items in thebasket. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
In some cases, customers get to checkout and then abandon baskets and you can determine that too. You can use the module to check basket activity before closing the store for maintenance or deleting baskets in admin. As basketsare converted to orders, they disappear from this listing. Likewise, when expired baskets are deleted in Admin, they also disappear from this listing.
You can delete specific baskets. This feature was requested by a store owner who found his competition was purposely putting large quantities of items in the basket so they would be out of stock. By using this feature he was able to delete the basket and the items were immediately put back in inventory.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed.

This module captures pertinent order information and uses it for generating a follow-on email. This gives you an opportunity to guage customer satisfaction with your store or providethem with a reason to come back and purchase again, e.g. with a coupon embedded in the email.
You can place the module in test mode until you are satisfied your stock email says what you want it to say.
You can delete the follow on email for a specific order number.
The email templates are composed within the module's admin. You can embed module tokens to insert text from compatible other modules, e.g. insert a unique coupon code by using the coupon generator in the Emporium Plus Coupon Redemption module.
You can have product specific follow-on emails. You can schedule one or two follow-on emails related to a product. These emails are usually used to promote another product at a specific time frame or to encourage a repeat or maintenance sale for the original product. You can have two product specific emails in addition to the generic global email, for a total of three follow-on emails to increase sales and enhance marketing. Do not use the emails to ask customers to rate products as there is one large company who claims they invented that idea and were able to patent it.

Because of the length of these Text Attribute fields, Merchant generated pages that utilize one of these attributes will cause a horizontal scroll bar to appear in the customer's Browser because the display width is too large for the screen resolution that most users use (greater than 800 pixels for a Text attribute field and greater than 1024 pixels when using a Text Area field).

Export your Miva Merchant product data in the basic file format required for FroogleTM (© 2002 Google) data feed submissions for inclusion in their ecommerce search engine. Fields included: product_url, name, description (html removed), price, image_url, category, offer_id (code). This Miva Merchant plugin module works with both MMUI and OpenUI. No mmui.mv edits required.
Most agree, Google is the mother of all search engines on the Internet. Their new venture to create a listing of actual items for sale across the Internet, rather than pages with hits on keywords, is a bold attempt to better target customers and buyers in a symbiotic relationship. This is a giant leap in eCommerce, providing comparison shopping using the Google search engine. If you are a Miva Merchant store owner you CANNOT afford to miss this opportunity, especially since inclusion in the FroogleTM index is free. How much have you invested in getting your store's search engine rankings?
A big side benefit to getting listed in FroogleTM is that the Google company is spidering your site, thus it may increase the number of your pages listed in Google. Coincidentally, my site went from 1220 to 1350 pages in Google within a week after submitting the first data feed to FroogleTM. Granted, I use Static Catalog Generator to create static html pages of all of my products so there were already a lot of pages in Google. Now I have an additional 130 which had been overlooked. If you don't have a good representation of your product catalog already in Google or other search indexes, you may want to use the Static Catalog Generator to optimize site visibility. Search engine optimization requires a multi-pronged approach (static html pages, shorter links, specific paid or unpaid submissions to directories). I have found that use of static html pages consistently gets my site into search indexes better than the dynamically produced Miva Merchant pages. There is no direct indication that listing in Froogle will effect your listing in Google, only time will tell.
A module designed for the specific purpose of creating a data feed for FroogleTM (rather than a generic data export) can include features which make it the best solution for the task:
If you are using our Volume Pricing module (version 4.53 or newer), you have the option to submit the lowest (bulk) prices as your product prices, thus making your listings more attractive when compared with competitors in the FroogleTM listing. However, the Google Feeds Support said the quantity option is not yet supported so it would be "best if you just give the price for ordering a single item". Eventually they plan to list the minimum break points to obtain the volume prices.Don't delay. The FroogleTM index is still in beta. As such, knowledge about it is not yet widespread due to limited promotion. The FroogleTM support team has been reviewing requests for inclusion and currently have reasonable turn around time. Your store may or may not be accepted and I would expect it to take longer and have more stipulations for acceptance and continued inclusion as this service becomes more popular. You should request acceptance into FroogleTM as soon as possible. Once accepted, whether you use our module for building the datafeed or some other software, you should do it now while time is on your side.
As this is a new endeavor for FroogleTM, I expect them to change their format and add new capabilities over time. Licensees of the 4.x version of this module will have free upgrades of the module through the 4.x version. We do not yet have a 2.x version available but will be exploring that option next week. Please ensure you select the correct module version for the version of Merchant you have.
