1 Find and Replace Weiland / Emporium Plus

Find a string of text in the product descriptions and replace it with a different string of text. This admin module quickly steps through each record in your store's database and makes the find and replacement. The user can choose either case sensitive or case insensitive.

A list of product records containing the find text will be displayed with a checkbox next to each along with a checkbox for ALL. The user can select one, several or all records for the find and replace.

2 How Did You Find Us? Last Chance Data CrosstownTraffic.Net /

Collect information from you customer before they complete the order.

This addendum module provides two stock questions to help find out where they heard about you. A drop down question to gather other information, with 6 reponses. Most people would use it to gather how the customer found you, but the question, and responses are configurable. 6 choices in the drop down selection allow for most possibilities. Another question is also available, to gather a text imput such as other information - or enter a new Question for the customer to give a text answer. Gathered information is sent along to the Merchant e-mail.

Module is similar toi the Customer Agree, but the responses are not required to continue.

Sales, support and other inquiries between you and your customers are seemlessly integrated into your MIVA Merchant store. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.

Feature Details.
Protect your email addresses. This module keeps yourstore's email address out of view of spammer email address harvesters. It also allows you to easily change the email address you want inquiries to go to without editing html pages.

Easy link to the contact form. You can launch the Contact Manager form from a button in the category column, in the nav bar or elsewhere within Merchant or from a static page. You can also easily use a http link format for launching the Contact Manager form from static pages or within Merchant.

Assign the inquiry. The Contact Manager allows you to assign the contact record to a specific technician or department with ease. That technician can then find their active contacts easily.

User interface look and feel. The Contact Manager form characteristics are controlled from the module's admin configuration screen. At the admin level you can change category column button text, optional category column button image, email subject, email to address, contact screen title, customer email prompt, customer inquiry prompt, background color, font face, font size, font color, message for the submission form, send button text, and optional send button image. Even for the html novice, the form's characteristics are easily altered in admin. In Merchant 5.x you can go a step farther if you are familiar with the store morph technology (SMT) and page template editing by fully customizing every aspect of the form. With the Merchant 5.x built in SMT you can make changes to the page and even rollback changes if you don't like what you see.

Customer can choose department. The module allows the customer to select the target to send the inquiry to with a select list option. This expedites the delivery to the specific technician/department's email address. As with the uncompiled version, the email addresses are hidden from email harvesting spammers.

Field inclusion and validation. Department codes, descriptions and email addresses are configured through admin. The standard collection fields are name, email, subject, department, and inquiry. However, you can also have an unlimited number of extra fields in the form. These fields can be required or optional. If required and the customer does not provide a response, the form will validate and redisplay so the missing info can be supplied. What extra fields you create and use is dependant on how you will use this contact form; e.g. requests for info, pricing, availability, product details, billing, shipping, or even for customer surveys prior to checkout.

Autoresponse receipt verification. When the customer submits their inquiry, the module can optionally send them an autoresponse that you have received their inquiry and how soon you will get back to them. That autoresponse email is composed and customized by you through the admin panel. You can also include the contact tracking number in the subject of the contact emails and responses, e.g. [EP #925]: How do I.....

Searchable contact records. The admin section allows you to search one one or more criteria to find messages you are interested in. You can then edit the status and/or respond to the sender.

The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed.

7 Order Bug Fix modStop /

This module provides a free solution to a bug present in Miva Merchant 4.16.

Bug Description/Symptoms:

When a shopper places an order with a total of $0.00 (whether due to purchasing free products, or a third-party Coupon or Gift Certificate module or similar, including but not limited to CouponTrk / GiftCertTrk and other modules we offer), they will receive an error on the invoice screen similar to "Runtime error in modules/ui/mmui.mvc @ [00000032:00004a04]: Line 2998: MvDO: Unable to find function 'PaymentModule_Invoice_Icon'". Also, the store admin will be unable to pull up order details, modify or delete the order through the admin interface, getting "Runtime error in 4.16/admin.mvc @ [00000077:00000c54]: admin.mv: Line 16813: MvDO: Unable to find function 'PaymentModule_Order_Tabs'".

Anyone running Merchant 4.16 who may have $0.00 order totals (particularly users of any third-party Gift Certificate/Coupon modules) is urged to download and install this bugfix. The module will fix all future orders, and has an admin option to go back and fix past orders (to allow the order to come up properly in the admin interface).

Export your Miva Merchant product data in the basic file format required for Yahoo Product Search (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.). The data feed submissions automate inclusion in their beta ecommerce search directory. Fields included: code, product-url, name, description (html removed), price, image-url, merchant-category, shopping-category . See "Limitations" below for products not included in this initial module release. This Miva Merchant plugin module works with both MMUI and OpenUI. No mmui.mv edits required.

Most agree, Yahoo! is the king of commercial and non-commercial directories on the Internet. Their new venture to create a listing of actual items for sale across the Internet, rather than pages with hits on keywords, is a bold attempt to better target customers and buyers in a symbiotic relationship. This is a giant leap in eCommerce, providing comparison shopping using the Yahoo! Product Search index. If you are a Miva Merchant store owner you CANNOT afford to miss this opportunity, especially since inclusion in the beta test index is currently free. How much have you invested in getting your store's search engine rankings? If you find you are getting traffic and earning revenue from this venture, you may find it beneficial to stay on after the beta period has ended. This gives you an opportunity to "test the waters".

A module designed for the specific purpose of creating a data feed for Yahoo! Product Search (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.), rather than a generic data export can include features which make it the best solution for the task:

  • Include an affiliate code in the URLs so that you can better track where actual sales are coming from
  • If your store is a single store in the domain, you can remove the Store_Code from the URL to aid in search engine spidering
  • If you are using our Flexible Product Description (recommended) or our Edit More (only for the very experienced) modules, the additional field data can be added to the description for the general products data feed.
  • Y Feed plugin module creates the datafeed flat file directly from your admin
    • Frequent, no hassle submissions keep your data current in Yahoo Product Search (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.).
    • Eliminates the need to copy product and category databases from the server to your PC to produce a flat file export with software such as MS Excel
    • Uses your data as it exists within admin at the moment it is run
  • Control over category insertion
    • Limit export to specific categories
    • Automatically builds the category hierarchy from each product's category up to top level category
    • Add Yahoo! category names, in addition to the actual category hierarchy
  • Removes html from your product descriptions
  • Included in the module are features to eliminate timeouts when generating the data feed export of large numbers of products
  • Exports to your documents directory rather than your data directory for ease of capture and transmittal

Don't delay. The Yahoo! Product Search (© 2003 Yahoo! Inc.) index is still in beta. As such, knowledge about it is not yet widespread due to limited promotion. The The Yahoo! Product Search Team has been reviewing requests for inclusion and currently have a very fast turn around time. Your store may or may not be accepted and I would expect it to take longer and have more stipulations for acceptance and continued inclusion as this service becomes more popular. You should request acceptance into The Yahoo! Product Search Team as soon as possible. Once accepted, whether you use our module for building the datafeed or some other software, you should do it now while time is on your side. Our Y Feed module produced the file that was used to get 500+ of our pages listed.

As this is a new endeavor for Yahoo! Inc., I expect them to change their format and add new capabilities over time. Licensees of the 4.x version of this module will have free upgrades of the module through the 4.x version.

    Limitations:
    1) Currently the module can only be used for the general products export for Merchant 4.x uncompiled. With the compiled version (Merchant 4.14 and newer) of the module, you can export book, music, and video type products if you are using one of the additional field methods above.
    2) We will be upgrading the Y Feed module for compiled Merchant (4.14 and newer) to include the following product categories in the future: video games, computers, and electronics.

    Payflow Link allows you to keep your existing internet-enabled merchant account and automatically capture payments for your Miva Merchant store. It's a fast and easy way to collect secure payments.

    The Payflow Link system is a cost-effective means of handling order processing which uses VeriSign's secure system.

    Payflow Link is the ideal choice if you process low-to-moderate levels of orders, and prefer a solution that is especially easy to implement and maintain. You will find that you can payment-enable your Web sites with little or no assistance from a third party (yet we'll install and configure the gateway at no additional cost).

    How It Works: Users shop as usual, but upon checkout, they are taken to VeriSign's secure system for payment. Once the order is complete, they are returned to your store.

    How You Save: Because it's independent from your merchant account, it's a less expensive option. There is only a monthly fee for the gateway for up to 1,000 transactions per month. There are no per-order charges. (Your merchant account fees still apply).

    12 Search Manager Viking Coders / Miva Central

    This module provides your store with a more configurable and robust search page. It permits you to offer your customer the option to search categories and attributes and to limit their search to particular fields in the Products database. Searches can be made case sensitive, restricted to searching only the entire phrase, and made to use either AND or OR. In addition, the module provides for the separate configuration of keywords for your products and those keywords can be included in the search. The module supports the Viking Coder's Additional Product Fields Manager module and you can provide your customers with the ability to search the fields that you have configured for your products. All of the configurable options, including the particular fields to search on, can selectively be made default options and hidden from your customers. In this way you can restrict the search to only those fields you want your customers to search in.

    The module comes with two distinct admin interfaces. One provides for the simple configuration of a default layout for the search page and display of results. For those familiar with HTML and looking for a specific layout, there is a template based configuration option which provides for complete token and template based control over the layout of the search page and results listing. Support is also provided for Third Party modules in the same manner as my Category Page Templates and Product Page Templates modules.

    A sampling of the module's features:

    • Can be configured to replace the standard Merchant Search link and will use the same search button. So you can have the standard search link instead point to the Search Manager search page
    • The search page can be linked to from a static link with a link of the form:
      áááhttp://yoursite.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SRCHM&Store_Code=storecode
    • Customers can search the categories for their search terms and the results are displayed above the product results (in the standard display format; they can go anywhere you want with the template formatting).
    • Customers can restrict the search to find only the entire phrase they entered by surrounding the search terms in double quotes. Eg. "Clown nose" will find only those products which contain the exact phrase "Clown nose"
    • Keywords can be saved for each product and category and those can be used to search in. To search the keywords for the products is an option for the products. The keywords are searched automatically for the categories. In both cases a tab is added to the individual category and product screens so that the keywords can be added.
    • You can redirect customers who add products from the results listing either back to the search page or to the basket.
    • All of the buttons (eg. "search", "add to basket", "previous", etc.) are configurable w/ images and alternate text.
    • When using the Template formatting option, you can use tokens to add drop down select lists with terms your customers might want to search for. They can then search for those with a simple selection from the list.
    • When using the Template formatting option, you can provide the customer with the option to sort the displayed results ascending or descending by product name, product code, or product id.
    • When using the Template formatting option, you can use multiple search fields to prompt your customer to search for multiple terms. For example, you could provide a field for "title" and a field for "author" to prompt our customer to narrow their search
    • Ability to search category headers and footers.

    In admin, you create one or more template emails. Each template can be different, i.e. what it displays, how the data is oriented on the screen/paper, and what product(s) triggers the autoresponder. Most responses are triggered by the product codes purchased. Some example uses:

    • Email to any of your drop-ship manufacturers listing the Ship To address and the products to be shipped if using real time credit card authorization. The module will sort out which drop shipper gets which emails, including listing the products to be shipped. You can still use the module if you are not using real time authorization, but you would send the email to your pending mailbox until manual processing verified the charge, then forward to the drop shipper. This would save hand entering the order. In addition to the email, an archive flat file is created which you can use to easily track sales activity related to each of your drop-ship manufacturers.
    • Email to Ship To or Bill To or both thanking them for a donation to your sponsored charity on your site.
    • Email to your shipping department listing Ship To address and products ordered if using real time credit card authorization. Products section can be torn/folded to result in a shipping label with your company address included. If not using real time authorization, use the pending mailbox technique similar to the drop shipper scenario above.
    • Email a promo coupon code if a customer purchases a specific product or from a list of products
    • Email service, warranty, shipping and contact information on specific products or product lines
    • Send an email to your cell phone's text messaging when orders are placed in your store (requires a cell phone plan that assigns an email address to your phone)
    • You own a mall with multiple stores within the mall. Those store owners rent the stores from you for a percentage of their gross. Use mail manager as an audit tool to track their sales. In addition to the autoresponse email, mail manager produces a flat file with order ID, date, product name, product code, quantity, price for each, and price extended. Periodically retrieve that flat file and import into a spreadsheet for easy analysis.
    • With compiled Merchant, the included Mail Manager Report module can display the contents of that flat file through admin. It can filter the report by specific time periods (daily, weekly, monthly) within reason. The limits of your PC or server may prevent very lengthy reports for excessively long time periods. It can also limit the report to only one product code. Since the templates can be designed for each vendor, you can create individual vendor flat files with a corresponding report for each vendor.
    • Literally, you can have a different autoresponder for every product in your store.

    However, Mail Manager has a somewhat open architecture so that other events can also trigger an automated response. For example:

    • Send a welcome email before the order completes, but after the customer completes the registration process (for those that create an account)
    • Send a thank you for rating a product (using our Rate This system) along with a coupon code for taking the time to do so
    • Essentially any event in the mmui, oui or even another third party module can trigger an email which you write for the particular event
    • You can use the ifvar script or var token in these "other event" emails. For example, generate a unique coupon code with a module token and insert it in the welcome email to give the new customer an incentive to buy now.     As you can see, the uses of this Mail Manager are quite diverse. Some of the variable features configured through admin for each template are:

    • Show or hide any of the data elements
    • Orient your email either horizontally or vertically
    • In the compiled version is a free form template using an extensive list of tokens and mini-scripts to customize the emails that are sent at the time of order completion. They can vary from mimics of the standard merchant notification and customer confirmation emails to brief order notifications for better acceptance within cell phone emails. The emails can be plain text or HTML formatted emails for better readability. You can change the fonts, colors, layout and even add images to your confirmation and notification emails. You can include data from other 3rd party modules, like Addendum, by using tokens. You can also create label emails with the "ship to" country address formatted according to the applicable country's postal recommendations when using the HTML template.
    • Customize your email and store's physical address
    • Designate email recipient, i.e. Ship To and/or Bill To and/or fixed email address
    • List full or partial Ship To and/or Bill To address
    • Restrict email to a specified order dollar value range, reward big spending customers with a coupon for their next visit
    • Restrict email to a specified list of countries, thus allowing for language specific emails
    • Write a different body for each of the email templates you add
    • List products and prices or just the products without prices
    • Link to one or more product codes or entire inventory with wildcard
    • No need to go to each product to link the email, a copy and paste from a flat text file will add hundreds instantly

    I'd be surprised if you find that this capability exists anywhere in any mid-priced shopping cart system. Autoresponders that fill in the blanks are one thing, but this is a store owner, pre-planned autoresponse for a specific product. Within your store, you could have dozens of different responses (individual or grouped) or a wildcard response for all of the products. You can use it to make connections not directly related to sales, yet linked to a specific sale.

    • Customer buys a kayak from your store. Tell them about the kayak camp 20 miles from your store and give them the 800 number of the guy with the info about a big get together next month.
    • Customer buys an orchid from you which would lead you to believe he/she may have a specific variety you have been looking for. You autorespond with your want list for your nursery in hopes of finding the needle in a haystack.

    As you can see, this list could be endless. Targetted, intelligent autoresponders are designed to increase your store's business and decrease the amount of time employees spend on sending out product specific, followup emails.

    MMUI and OpenUI compatible. No editing of the mmui.mv is needed and no OpenUI hook points are used. Thus, module conflict does not occur. The pre-formed templates are easy to configure and do not require programming experience. In the compiled version of Merchant (4.14 and newer), you also have the option of using tokens and mini-scripts in free form templates.     • Insert a "require" token that has to be met before the email will be allowed. As example,have a checkbox using Addendum to ask a customer if they want to be added to a list server (mailing list). Then if they check the box, the "yes" response is sent to Mail Manager. The Mail Manager can then generate a specifically formatted email to activate an email address at your list server, if you have one.

    We went all out with this latest release of the OpenUI. We have included the following enhancements:

    • OpenBatches™ - This simplifies order processing in Miva Merchant like never before. You no longer have to go back and forth between the left-hand tree and right-hand main window.     • Shorter URLS for Google - It was recently announced in a newsletter geared toward search engines and Miva Merchant that category and product pages without the store code in the url were being readily indexed by the top search engine in the world, Google. If you only have one store, the OpenUI will automatically remove the store code from all urls in the category tree, product list, search results, and basket contents screen. If you have two stores, your store code will remain in the url.

      Example:Instead of merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CODE&Category_Code=CATEGORY, it will be: merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=CATEGORY This applies to compiled stores with the mvc extension as well.

    • Category and Product Names First in Title Tags- Miva Merchant and previously the OpenUI put your store name before the category and product names in their respective screens title tag (i.e. Store Name: Category or Product Name). Depending on the length of your store name, your category and product titles may not be appearing in your search engine listings title phrase! With the new and improved OpenUI, your category and product titles will be first in the title tag, resulting in better listings within search engines (i.e.Category or Product Title: Store Name).

    • A New (Optional) Interface for the Miva Merchant Navigation Bar (navbar)- You now have better (and more) control over which navigation buttons are displayed, as well as many other features including:
      • Ability to specify cellpadding and cellspacing of navbar.

      • Options to align navbar (i.e. Full, Center, Left, Right).
      • Ability to change navbar buttons including the logo to space, text, etc.
      • Token replacement in the Cell "links" can be done using the %VAR(varname )% convention. For example, to include the g.sessionurl, just use "%VAR(g.sessionurl)%". To include the store id, use "%VAR(Stores.d.id)%". Most available variables can be used, but they will all be filtered through the encodeentities() function before they are substituted.

    The OpenUI Look & Feel Pro License Key unlocks a special feature of the latest OpenUI module. Once you unlock this feature with your license, you will be able to see the total stats for the orders in one batch, all unbatched orders, or all orders regardless of classification. The stats page gives a total sales summary, and then breaks the total sales down by day-of-the-week and time of day (by the hour) the orders were made. The stats page also lists the top selling products and top revenue generators for the specified parameters. The stats are based on the filtering options you currently have set, allowing you to specify exactly what information you would like to generate. For example, if you are in the customer screen on the OpenOrders™ tab and click on the stats button, you will see the stats of that customer's order only. If you have filtered the orders based on the order total and the date range, then the stats will be based on this filter. The stats button gives you immense flexibility because it allows you to view stats using a single filter or any combination of filters.     • Shorter URLS for Google - It was recently announced in a newsletter geared toward search engines and Miva Merchant that category and product pages without the store code in the url were being readily indexed by the top search engine in the world, Google. If you only have one store, the OpenUI will automatically remove the store code from all urls in the category tree, product list, search results, and basket contents screen. If you have two stores, your store code will remain in the url.

      Example:Instead of merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CODE&Category_Code=CATEGORY, it will be: merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=CATEGORY This applies to compiled stores with the mvc extension as well.

    • Category and Product Names First in Title Tags- Miva Merchant and previously the OpenUI put your store name before the category and product names in their respective screens title tag (i.e. Store Name: Category or Product Name). Depending on the length of your store name, your category and product titles may not be appearing in your search engine listings title phrase! With the new and improved OpenUI, your category and product titles will be first in the title tag, resulting in better listings within search engines (i.e.Category or Product Title: Store Name).

    • A New (Optional) Interface for the Miva Merchant Navigation Bar (navbar)- You now have better (and more) control over which navigation buttons are displayed, as well as many other features including:
      • Ability to specify cellpadding and cellspacing of navbar.

      • Options to align navbar (i.e. Full, Center, Left, Right).
      • Ability to change navbar buttons including the logo to space, text, etc.
      • Token replacement in the Cell "links" can be done using the %VAR(varname )% convention. For example, to include the g.sessionurl, just use "%VAR(g.sessionurl)%". To include the store id, use "%VAR(Stores.d.id)%". Most available variables can be used, but they will all be filtered through the encodeentities() function before they are substituted.
