1 Dimension Pricing Weiland / Miva Central

Charge your customers by the variable size of the item they are ordering. This module is used to calculate prices on items which are priced, e.g. by the foot, by the inch, or other units of measure. This is particularly useful when the store owner does not want to have a pull down select list of infinite values.

The module also eliminates the common hack that stores have used which involved using the number of the items added to the basket to adjust charges. This module allows the customer to specify two dimensions (e.g. length and width) as item attributes on the product screen (PROD) and still be able to order more than one of that item. Not for upsell products. For example, ordering four 8" X 10" picture frames involves entering 8 in the length attribute and 10 in the width attribute and entering 4 in the add to basket quantity input.

The store owner determines the storewide number of free units (if any), e.g. square inches, and the lowest and the highest values that can be used in the measurement. The store owner can also use price groups to vary the dimension pricing for applicable customers. The attributes type is usually text but could be select list pull down. It cannot be a template. The attribute prompts can read whatever the store owner desires to direct the customer to enter the numeric measurement. If you are using our Attribute Prompt vs Code module, that prompt will also display on the basket, invoice and emails instead of the attribute code. The store owner's settings are configured in admin.

The customer enters the dimensions to form the combined units (e.g. square inches) and the module calculates the price based on the calculated units times the price of the first dimension attribute.

2 Basket Price Group Recalc v5 Emporium Plus / Miva Central

Recalculate the basket prices based on the price group a customer is in when they log in. Normally, if a customer is not logged in when they place items in the basket, the basket price will be a non-price group price, even after they log in at check out.

Features:
- Automatically recalculate basket prices when logging in
- Exclude specific product codes from the recalculation
- Safety check price change to ensure it does not raise it
- Token available to force recalculation in addition to the automatic log in recalculation (Merchant 5.x only)

Feature Details.
Automatically recalculate. When the customer logs in, the module will determine the price group status of the customer. If they are in a price group, it will recalculate the prices in the basket to reflect the price group prices of the items.

Product exclusion. In some cases, you may not want to recalculate the basket price for specific products. As example, there are 3rd party modules which adjust the basket price based on other factors set by those modules. The External Product Purchase (sold separately), Size Pricing, Dimension Pricing, Override Pricing modules allow the customer to enter values in the products' attributes which ultimately effect the basket prices of the products. This product exclusion feature lets you exclude those products from the recalculation process. The basket price will remain as it was calculated by the 3rd party module that originally controlled the addition of the product into the basket.

Safety check. The module will verify that the price group recalculation will actually lower the price. Some 3rd party modules discount item prices at the time they are added to the basket, based on a variety of factors. An example of this is Volume Pricing (sold separately). If the customer orders in quantity and you have set the threshold so they will get a price break for multiples of the item, the item will be added to the basket at a price lower than its individual item price. In some cases, that value could even be lower than price group prices. The recalculation module will compare the two prices and use the lower of the two for the basket price.

Additional token. The additional token feature is in the Merchant 5.x version of the module only. This module will make the recalculation at the time the customer logs in. In some cases, you might want to force the process again. For example, the Emporium Plus Customer and Product Administration module (sold separately) has an automatic price group promotion feature. If you set that to occur when they log in, it actually happens when the screen displays at the point you place the token to do that. As the recalculation module does its automatic feature before the screen displays, the customer would not get the full advantage of a promotion to a new price group. Hence, if you are using a price group promotion feature in another 3rd party module, you can follow that process with a forced basket price group recalculation.

The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed.

3 Redirect Shopper Crosstowntraffic.net /

Requires OUI
This OpenUI extension will redirect a customer when the a special url link code is added to the link, with a corresponding modified screen code. Two screens have been modified to respond to these redirects: Log on, and Account

Use when sending a customer to log on, and it automatically brings up their account information screen. When the customer is finished editing, it will redirect the user to the root web when the information is submitted. A link to the Order History Screen has also been added to the Account Information Screen.

The default screen that shows when no screen is specified is the basket. Modifying the headers, and footers of your store to use these modified links is a snap, using TweakOUI. Screens that have not been addressed are: Products, Categories, Product List, Search, Storefront, and the Checkout Process. This modification allows for integration with a static site, and keeps the customer out of the Merchant Store as much as possible - utilizing your static HTML pages. Links inside the basket to a products information in the store are still active. quot; This module opens a new dimension to the way we can use Miva Merchant with our existing site!"

Version 4.x
Specifying the page that they return to. Such as: the page they came from. This MMUI extension will redirect a customer back to a specified page, when using an add to basket derivitive in the link from a static page . You do not need to specify a Screen, such as Screen=BASK, because they will not see it unless you specify to send them to the basket using the Screen command.

4 Custom Integration of UPS Online Tools Viking Coders / Miva Central

This is NOT a module, but rather a service; a custom integration into your store of an interface to access the UPS Rates & Service Selection so that your customers can enjoy the pleasures of real-time UPS shipping rate calculation. The integration requires that you register as an end-user and obtain an access key (easily done). We will then integrate the tools into your site using your UPS user id and access key. Send an email to brok@vikingcoders.com for more information on the procedure.

The features offered by the interface are almost identical to those of the Original UPS Advanced module. Unlike the current version of that module, this interface handles international shipping, surcharges for rural areas, and even shipping FROM international addresses (but then I guess it wouldn't be "international" to you).

The interface offers options such as such as calculation of "oversize" and "dimensional" weights (you can specify the dimensions of the package), declared value insurance, and hazmat. In addition, it lets you configure products to be shipping independently in their own box (or multiple quantity per box) and from their own zip code. Individual products can be flagged to have free shipping, products being shipping in their own box can be specified to have free shipping on a per-method basis (eg. free UPS ground for product x), and individual methods can be configured to be free (eg. free UPS ground). You also have the option of configuring the module on a "category" level so that all products within that category will ship using the option set for the category.

Individual methods can be discounted (eg. UPS Ground 25% off). Individual methods can also have specific handling charges assigned to them. The merchant can specify the maximum weight to put into individual shipping boxes as well as specify a weight for the shipping package itself. The module uses a sophisticated algorithm to pack the boxes to the maximum weight while maintaining the lowest number of boxes. The methods seen by the customer in the drop down shipping selection list can be sorted either ascending or descending (or not at all).

5 FedEx Advanced Viking Coders / Miva Central

Finally, a robust FedEx shipping module! It offers many more configuration options than Merchant's standard FedEx module, such as calculation taking into account dimensional weight, and declared value insurance. In addition, it lets you configure products to be shipping independently in their own box (or multiple quantity per box) and from their own zip code. Individual products can be flagged to have free shipping, products being shipping in their own box can be specified to have free shipping on a per-method basis (eg. free FedEx Home Delivery for product x), and individual methods can be configured to be free (eg. free FedEx ground). Individual methods can be discounted (eg. FedEx Ground 25% off). Individual methods can also have specific handling charges assigned to them. The merchant can specify the maximum weight to put into individual shipping boxes as well as a maximum number. The module uses a sophisticated algorithm to pack the boxes to the maximum weight while maintaining the lowest number of boxes. The methods seen by the customer in the drop down shipping selection list can be sorted either ascending or descending (or not at all).

The module calculates it's rates by direct XML communication with FedEx's servers and obviously offers FedEx's shipping options but otherwise is similar in functionality to the UPS Online Advanced.

6 UPS Online Advanced Viking Coders /

It's Back! After a brief hiatus, the UPS Online Advanced module is back and ready for business. The module no longer connects to the UPS server, thus adhering to their restrictions, but it now downloads zone and rate tables from Miva's web site using the same methodology as their own UPS module. Unfortunately, this means that the module can currently provide only domestic UPS rates and methods. I'm working on that though...

This new version of the module is a direct upgrade to the previous versions of the module so you can upgrade, if you desire, from older versions with no problems.

This isn't your father's UPS module! It offers many more configuration options than Merchant's standard UPS module, such as calculation of "oversize" and "dimensional" weights, declared value insurance, and Hazmat.
