| The Best Seller Display module interfaces with the internal Miva Merchant 5.0 statistics module to provide your customers with similar best seller information previously only seen by the store owner in the admin interface. It goes a step further by breaking down the best seller information by category. Your customers will not see exact numbers sold, only relative ranking. As they see the best sellers listed, the display provides them with a convenient link to the individual products so that they too can see what all the excitement is about. You can reset the statistics through the existing admin statistics interface so that your best sellers can be kept current as product inventory changes. This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant. Through admin, the store owner can place the token for the display on whichever pages he/she desiires. You can specify the number of best sellers that will display in the box, e.g.top five. The CTGY screen is slightly different from the other screen displays, as it shows the best seller in the category that the customer is viewing at the time. You have the option of excluding specified category screens that you do not want to display the best sellers. You can also vary the color, size and fonts used in the display box. You can even specify that the module will obey the availability group settings. This will limit the linkage if your best sellers are only available to certain customers and those customers have not logged in first. The upside is that it does not show detailed product info for products that are not availableto all customers. If you choose to allow all customers to view all products in the best seller list, the module will ensure that only eligible customers can link to the products. You can exclude specific products from the display. This is useful if you have products that are special sellers, e.g. upsell products. The layout optionally allows you to include the thumbnail and price of each best seller item. You can set the height and width for your images, hence you should try to keep all of yourthumbnails at about the same aspect ratio. You can vary the layout at each of the screen type so that some can be vertical while others are horizontal or no display at all. Using the render tokens, you can insert the Best Seller Display just about anywhere and on any screen. The default display is easily configured in the module's admin screen and will display the best sellers either vertical or horizontal. For those with more experience in using the Miva page templates, you can use the custom render token and make all of the table layout configurable by processing the array that the module creates. The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. This module tracks top selling products, both store-wide, and within individual categories, which can then be displayed to your customers with links to the top products sold. The powerful admin interface allows virtually absolute control over the appearance. "Tokens" allow you to create your own top selling products section in an unlimited number of ways, creating dynamic content based on your pre-formatted HTML. This module places the shopping basket quantity and order amount totals in a layer in the browser window. Details: You can specify the horizontal and vertical placement of the basket contents layer, the size of the contents area, background colors or images, text colors, fonts, and sizes, and even the text to display in the basket contents window. This basket contents layer will persist throughout the store, and will allow the customer to know at all times exactly how many items are in the basket and the order total. Indications: This module has been designed to only show the quantity and price totals, and not basket line item detail, so that it will load quickly and provide and easy reference while remaining unobtrusive to the general design of the store. I have chosen to place the contents in a layer because this will likely allow many users to implement a persistent basket contents display within an existing store without requiring any redesign. Export your Miva Merchant product data in the basic file format required for FroogleTM (© 2002 Google) data feed submissions for inclusion in their ecommerce search engine. Fields included: product_url, name, description (html removed), price, image_url, category, offer_id (code). This Miva Merchant plugin module works with both MMUI and OpenUI. No mmui.mv edits required. Most agree, Google is the mother of all search engines on the Internet. Their new venture to create a listing of actual items for sale across the Internet, rather than pages with hits on keywords, is a bold attempt to better target customers and buyers in a symbiotic relationship. This is a giant leap in eCommerce, providing comparison shopping using the Google search engine. If you are a Miva Merchant store owner you CANNOT afford to miss this opportunity, especially since inclusion in the FroogleTM index is free. How much have you invested in getting your store's search engine rankings? A big side benefit to getting listed in FroogleTM is that the Google company is spidering your site, thus it may increase the number of your pages listed in Google. Coincidentally, my site went from 1220 to 1350 pages in Google within a week after submitting the first data feed to FroogleTM. Granted, I use Static Catalog Generator to create static html pages of all of my products so there were already a lot of pages in Google. Now I have an additional 130 which had been overlooked. If you don't have a good representation of your product catalog already in Google or other search indexes, you may want to use the Static Catalog Generator to optimize site visibility. Search engine optimization requires a multi-pronged approach (static html pages, shorter links, specific paid or unpaid submissions to directories). I have found that use of static html pages consistently gets my site into search indexes better than the dynamically produced Miva Merchant pages. There is no direct indication that listing in Froogle will effect your listing in Google, only time will tell. A module designed for the specific purpose of creating a data feed for FroogleTM (rather than a generic data export) can include features which make it the best solution for the task: - Include an affiliate code in the URLs so that you can better track where actual sales are coming from
- If your store is a single store in the domain, you can remove the Store_Code from the URL to aid in search engine spidering
If you are using our Volume Pricing module (version 4.53 or newer), you have the option to submit the lowest (bulk) prices as your product prices, thus making your listings more attractive when compared with competitors in the FroogleTM listing. However, the Google Feeds Support said the quantity option is not yet supported so it would be "best if you just give the price for ordering a single item". Your store may or may not be accepted and I would expect it to take longer and have more stipulations for acceptance and continued inclusion as this service becomes more popular. You should request acceptance into FroogleTM as soon as possible. Once accepted, whether you use our module for building the datafeed or some other software, you should do it now while time is on your side. As this is a new endeavor for FroogleTM, I expect them to change their format and add new capabilities over time. Licensees of the 4.x version of this module will have free upgrades of the module through the 4.x version. We do not yet have a 2.x version available but will be exploring that option next week. Allow your customers to enter an offer price for a product that is in your products database. You can also use it for auction high bidder purchases. This module is similar to our External Product Purchase module. The difference is that Override Pricing is best suited for products that are actually in your inventory so the customer sees the product image, description, etc that they are offering/bidding on. With External Product Purchase, the customer is seeing a generic
product page where they enter the product name, ID, offer/bid price, and weight.
The offer or high bid is entered into the text attribute on the product page. The price in the basket reflects that customer entered offer/bid price. The order will then continue as normal. However, you can create a disclaimer that if the offer/bid is not accepted, the order will be cancelled and payment refunded. Consult with an attorney on the best wording for your disclaimer as you would not want to be required to sell at their entered price.
The attribute for the override pricing input can also be modified in admin if you are using the OpenUI. You can select to shorten the input to 10 characters (size) or you can even make it a hidden input. You can also have regular product attributes on the same product page. For example, you may want to have an optional auction ID in case the item is going to be sold in store and/or through auction. The link from the auction win could include the auction ID and it would also pre-filled when clicked.
There are also some examples of links and .htaccess re-write rules for making short url links for typical uses of this module in its online install/usage doc.
Limitation: There are some 3rd party modules which change the price in the basket AFTER the item has already been added to the basket. Most notable are those which re-do all of the prices if a customer is in a price group but forgot to login at the beginning of shopping. If you are going to get one of those modules, make sure it 1) only changes the
price if the basket price and actual product price are the same (which means no special actions had been taken on the price when it was put in the basket initially), 2) it does not make the basket price higher than the current basket price as the Override Price module which controlled the actual addition of the item to the basket should be the module to determine the offer/bid price. If you already have a module which makes those sweeping basket price changes without regard for the module that put the product in the basket, you may want to contact that module's developer to see if they could add the two simple rules above to their logic to reduce module conflict. The Category Manager module allows you to have multiple category templates in a single store. You can have a different template for every category in your store if you want. The templates use the standard store morph technology template editor in MIVA Merchant 5. While basic knowledge of how to edit MIVA Merchant 5 templates is required, there are two example templates provided in addition to the built in ctgy page template. Getting started is not that difficult. Don't miss our introductory price of this versatile module.

| Feature Details. Multiple page templates. Using the built-in store morph technology, you can edit the page templates just like the built-in page templates, including recall, notes, and indexing of previous versions. Include typical render tokens on the custom category pages from other 3rd party modules (sold separately) which you have in your store, e.g. rate this, wait list, best seller, and others.
Easy assignment of categories to templates. Once you create the template you can assign one or more categories to it. This can be done from the Category Edit screen or if you are using the Emporium Plus Category Import module (sold separately), you can import the template assignment right along with importing new categories into the store. No need to import the categories with one module and then use a separate module to assign them to templates.
Default page for unassigned categories. The default ctgy page template is used for all categories which have not been assigned to a specific custom template. This makes processing more efficient as the Category Manager runs a quick lookup to determine if it needs to run certain more complex processing routines, like advanced pagination.
Advanced page navigation. Several pagination variables are available to write detailed page navigation links. You can have the typical 1 2 3 4 etc. Or you can break up long lines with arrows, dots, dashes, etc to fill in a gap. You can also display the page number of the total number of pages. This pagination is similar to that used in the Emporium Plus Power Search module for Merchant 5. As a point of reference for the customer, you can even include how many products are listed in the category.
Flexible pagination. Each category template can have a different setting for the number of products to display on a page. Initially, the customer will see the number you set. However, customers using broadband may want to see all the product in a category on a single page, so there is an option to list all.
On-the-fly sorting. The products are initially displayed in the sort order which the store owner has previously setup in the normal admin sorting. The customer can then change the sort order based on their desires. Available sort fields are name, code, price, date items were added to the store, or the default store setup. They can be sorted ascending or descending.
Breadcrunb navigation. The module includes optional breadcrumb navigation. An array is created which holds the current category name and its parents up to the top level category. With standard MIVA Merchant template code, you can create a quick link to higher categories like Home > Software > Developer Bundles
Sub-category navigation. You can display the sub-categories of a parent category on the category page, e.g. below the parent category's name. The array can be displayed like you want it using standard MIVA Merchant template code.
We cannot link to our demo stores from MivaCentral so if you'd like to see a couple of the live pages demonstrating single or multiple column layout of products, please contact us for links. Those pages demonstrate the variable layout of products, breadcrumb navigation, on-the-fly sorting, and sub-category navigation.
The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. For those that are not, we are in the process of converting the code for that remaining, very small group of MIVA Merchant stores. At this time we have not had a problem. Modules will be moved to the top of the queue as needed. |

The main category tree object (OOLTREEPLS_CATTREE) is a drop-in replacement for the standard OUI2_CATTREE object. By default, it functions the same as the OUI2_CATTREE object, but since the database code for the tree is compiled, it will run faster. This interface module will display and retrieve customer entered information relative to customer accounts on the account create, account edit, and order customer information screens. You can even use it with the Emporium Plus Mail Manager module (sold separately) to include the information in the order notification emails.
Interface with built-in custom customer fields: The built in custom customer fields module from MIVA Corp establishes the databases and provides an admin side interface for the store owner to enter custom customer data. This module provides the merchant public side for the customer to enter data into those custom fields.
Easy token implementation: Easily place tokens on the customer information collection screens using the standard MM5 template script. You can use the common "foreach" loop to display all of them together or you can break each field out for display in various parts of the screen. For example, you may want to collect a second address line just below the first address line and then later in the screen collect the company rep the customer deals with. To view the actual look of the screen, you can go to our pinemporium.com test store and create an account. You can change values in the fields with the account edit selection on the nav bar.
Flat file export: When a new customer account is created, all of the standard field values except the pgrpcount and password are saved to a flat file log. In addition to the standard fields, values entered into the custom fields are also saved to the flat file. Additionally, date and time fields are exported so you can determine exactly when a new customer account was created. The flat file is | delimited and can be FTPd to your PC with your FTP software and then imported into other programs. You can periodically delete the flat file and it will be recreated with the next new customer account creation.
Search new customer log: You can search the flat file log created when new customers sign-up. You can search on keyword, single date, and/or date range. The standard and custom fields will be displayed. The log display includes a link to the actual customer records so you can edit and make changes if needed.
Interface with email modules: The custom field values can be displayed in the merchant and customer notification emails if you are using the Emporium Plus Mail Manager module (sold separately) to generate them.
Limitations: - Custom customer fields are used for customer records. If the customer does not create or have an existing account, there is no place to save or use the information. Hence, on the 'OCST' checkout screen, it is best to wrap the custom customer field inputs within a conditional check for customer ID.
- There is no validation to ensure the custom fields are filled in. Therefore, they are all optional.
- If you want to display the custom customer fields in the notification emails, you will need to use an email module capable of using custom field tokens, for example the Mail Manager.
- The inputs will disable html and SQL injection hacks. It is expected customers will be entering text or checkbox entries. While textarea inputs can be used, internal actions will be taken to reduce hacker attempts. So if you need custom fields that will accept html, this module is not for you.

return via your storefront. The return request can be processed in the Miva Merchant admin and
your customers can view the status of the return request.

Example Usage:
A storefront that sells cakes and jelly
beans online accepts returns for jelly

the cakes are baked and shipped
on the same day. They are never stale
since they get shipped over night.
(The storefront owner solved this problem
with the Copernicus Shipping SuperMod!)
Well, the storefront owner
purchased a batch of jelly beans from a
discounted wholesaler (whose name
will not be revealed here!) who sold
him 200 pounds of stale jelly beans!
Through his storefront, he wants to
accept requests for returns and he
wants to automatically approve all returns
due to “stale jelly beans.” He
installs the Copernicus CustReturn
module and immediately he is offering
his customers an easy way to handle
the stale jelly bean problem! He has a
standard returns request form for his
customers to fill out on his website. He
can decide whether to approve or decline
all other returns; but since he
knows about the stale jelly bean problem,
he has configured this return reason
for auto-approval. So he’s in complete
control of the process; yet, expediting
the returns for his customers
who have suffered from the stale jelly
bean shipment.
He also wants to offer store credit so
customers can order a new package of
fresh jelly beans. He’s installed the
CustCredit module to integrated the
returns and customer credit process for
his customers. His customers can
come back to his website to find out
about the approval of their return request
and purchase another package of
jelly beans using their customer credit.

The CustRMA module provides an administrative interface for handling the returns process. Store
administrators can manage product returns, track RMA numbers, and identify the credit method
for a return. When a returned product is received, the store administrator can check-off the items from the RMA list; once the entire return is received the RMA is automatically closed.

Discount your product prices based on the number
of items ordered of identical products, eg 1-3 =
standard price, 4-6 = lower, etc. The admin interface provides an easy to enter "from - to cost" format. You can literally have as many ranges as you want to type in. See the image below for example syntax. You can either use actual values or percent of price to be subtracted from the product price. These price differentials are added directly in the admin interface under the product edit screen. You only apply these price differentials in the products that you want to use them. This module applies the price in your low, high, cost groupings. If you do not include a grouping at the single item level, it will use the method for pricing in your store. It only activates if you include a low, high, cost grouping.
For example: 6|10|12% 11|20|14% 21|999|16% The module only uses price groups when using the percent off discount calculation. If you enter fixed prices for the quantity ranges, then price groups are ignored. Keep in mind that the percent discounts will be over and above the discount already given if you are using price groups.
In the compiled version you can opt to not give the price group an additional discount above the volume pricing. You can even make all or some price groups not eligible for volume
pricing and hide the table from them completely. Customers
must be logged in to identify the price group they are in before
the volume pricing module can disqualify them from volume pricing.
The percentage discounting method subtracts the percent discount from the base price. Base price does
not include attribute prices. To apply the percentage,
simply include the percent symbol (%) in the line. If
you are using cost method for your store (other than
price groups), you will not be able to use the percentage
discounting method. Instead, use the actual value method. If you are using another third party module which overrides prices in the basket and recomputes them using the price in the product record, you will not be able to use this module. Other third party modules will not
recognize that it needs to apply the calculations in this module. The module recognizes identical products. Hence different attributes will change the product enough that the discount won't apply. For example 3 red shirts and 6 blue shirts will not give the discount of 9 shirts. Rather, they'll get the discount rate of 3 for one of the line items and 6 for the other.
The module for the compiled version of merchant DOES have the ability to amalgamate quantities so in the example above as long as the product code is the same, all 9 items would get the volume discount for 9 items. You have the option for each product code to amalgamate quantities or treat varied attributes as different products.
You can optionally include a table on the product (PROD) and category (CTGY) screens displaying the rates as generated from the products' volume discount record. You can see an example of that with our best seller products. You can optionally have a quantity input in that table display. These options are configured through admin.
New in the compiled version is compatibility interface with the OpenUI Tokens and Viking Coders product template module. Place the table display on the product page so that it better fits your desired look. New configuration options added for the table display. Also, the ability to display the lowest price in place of the standard price when volume pricing effects the product, the store is using the OpenUI, the store is version 4.14 or higher, and there are no other 3rd party modules effecting the price display. This feature is useful if you want to have a sale on one or more items. Simply set the volume to 1 or more with a specific discount percentage and you have a sale with as low as display. You can use the token %product_price_f% to further highlight that with a strike thru. To make this feature even more useful, you can enter a starting and ending date for the sale so that it will start and end automatically. For ease of entry, a flat file import module is included. You can put all product codes in the flat file or use an asterisk (*) and one line of "rules" to apply the volume price to all products in the store. Create a storewide sale, e.g. 10% off in seconds with a specific start and stop date. Then just as quickly remove all settings at your leisure after the sale. There is also a volume price export so you can
quickly build your flat file, then edit or add to it. This
is useful when you want to have a storewide sale on all products but retain volume prices on your regularly discounted items. Export the volume prices. Import your sale settings. Import your volume discounts on the few you want to maintain at
pre-sale prices. The volume price can also be used in our compiled
Fast Data Feed module for
froogle submissions and our
Static Catalog Generator which creates static html pages for better search engine indexing.

The Cascading PopUp! Menu system replaces the standard Miva Merchant category tree with a JavaScript/DHTML based pop-up menu bar. The menu is highly configurable, and provides numerous display options. The menu system provides both vertical and horizontal layouts, and allows the storeowner to create additional custom menus.

Please note: The Cascading PopUp! Menus (Advanced) module re-constructs the Miva Merchant category tree and therefore, is best used on storefronts that do not have an extremely large number of category groupings (i.e., thousands of categories).

Export your Miva Merchant product data in the basic file format required for FroogleTM (� 2002 Google) data feed submissions for inclusion in their ecommerce search engine. Fields included: product_url, name, description (html removed), price, image_url, category, offer_id (code). This module is for MIVA Merchant 5.x. We also have the corresponding module for an older version of Merchant.
Most agree, Google is the mother of all search engines onthe Internet. Their feature to create a listing of actual items for sale across the Internet, rather thanpages with hits on keywords, is a bold attempt to better target customers and buyers in a symbiotic relationship. This is a giant leap in eCommerce, providing comparison shopping using the Google search engine. If you are a MivaMerchant store owner you CANNOT afford to miss this opportunity, especially since inclusion in the FroogleTMindex is free. How much have youinvested in getting your store's search engine rankings?
A big side benefit to getting listed in FroogleTM is that the Google company is spidering your site, thus it may increase the number of your pages listed in Google. Coincidentally, my site went from 1220 to 1350 pages in Google within a week after submitting the first data feed to FroogleTM. I had an additional 130 which had been previously overlooked. There is no direct indication that listing in Froogle will effect your listing in Google, only time will tell.
