1 MmDbDOC truXoft / Miva Central

MmDbDOC - truXoft Data Doctor and Miva Database Editor

MmDbDOC is a tool for testing and repairing corrupted databases and database indexes. It allows you to remove duplicate records from any Merchant or non-Merchant database quickly and without downloading or importing them, directly through the Miva Merchant Admin web interface. There are three different ways of the duplicate records repair:

• manual selection - you can select which of the duplicate records you keep, and remove the remaining one(s)
• manual editing - you can edit the duplicates so that you keep several or all of them in the database but change the unique identifier field(s) so that the duplicate key in the index is avoided
• fully automated - MmDbDOC will automatically remove all duplicate records from the selected database, keeping always the first found record in the duplicate set

MmDbDOC can be also used for viewing databases. This feature is invaluable for quick database verification, for retrieving data not accessible through Miva Merchant Admin (i.e. customer passwords, module settings, basket data, affiliate data, ...). Please note: We recommend viewing the raw databases containing sensitive data (passwords, email addresses, payment data) in secure mode only (SSL / https).

The PRO version includes a full featured database editor for modifying any Miva Merchant or 3rd party database tables. Fields may be quickly modified without downloading or exporting any data. New records may be added or old ones deleted. You can duplicate whole blocks of records with a simple click and edit them afterwards.

Main Features

Please note: truXoft Ultra Batch is required for the full functionality of the standard or PRO versions. The free version of Ultra Batch that comes with MmDbDOC, allows you to see maximally up to three records at a time.

Support

truXoft offers limited free support within 30 days after the purchase of the module. Issues not included in the free support:

• Information about the structure of Miva Merchant databases
• Information about individual database tables or the database fields
• Information about relations between individual Miva Merchant database tables
• Help with repairing or editing of databases
• Any other issues not directly related to MmDbDOC

Important note: The database editor in the PRO version was designed for advanced users who understand the basic structure of Miva Merchant databases. MmDbDOC allows you to edit the raw data, but makes no verification of the data you added, modified or removed. If multiple tables are in a relation, it is the user who has to insure to edit all related tables appropriately to avoid breaking the cross table links. Unqualified editing of the databases may corrupt the store. We highly recommend backing up the entire domain and store data before removing duplicate records (repair) or before editing the databases. truXoft bears absolutely no liability in case of loss of data, corrupted databases or a broken Miva Merchant store. If any such case should occur, please restore the original data from the backup.

After repairing or editing any database, you have to pack both domain and store data in Admin!

Instructions

Installation instrucitons may be found in the readme.txt included in the distribution package. After registering your license key, in Ultra Batch (Xadmin) screen in the main frame of Miva Merchant Admin, click on the tab "databases", select the mode "database list" and click the OK button. Ultra Batch will show you the list of all pre-defined databases.

If a corrupted database with duplicate records is detected, the "Repair" button appears right in the line of the concerned database. By clicking it, you access the repair interface and see the first found set of duplicate records.

You can either:

1. select the record you want to keep (click "KEEP Selected"),
2. or edit the records to avoid the duplicate key (edit the fields with light blue background so that the resulting key is different at each record) and click the button "Keep multiple"
3. or let MmDbDOC repair the database unattended (click "Automated Repair")

In case of manual repair, as described above in 1) and 2), you have to repeat the operation with each duplicate set individually. Normally, you should use the default mode of Ultra Batch hiding deleted records - select "standard" in the first small dropdown box in the right part of the Ultra Batch control panel. In case you use the mode "all", you'll have to navigate through the duplicate sets with the help of the navigation buttons right below the Ultra Batch control panel.

The navigation buttons can be used also when you want to preview all duplicate sets before starting to repair them. Please note that the filter expression (top left) and pagination (top right) of Ultra Batch have influence on the MmDbDOC output. When low numbers are selected in the pagination in sake of faster page loads, use the navigation buttons to proceed to the next page. It applies also for the database list, not only for the repair and edit interface of MmDbDOC.

Before starting to repair or edit databases with MmDbDOC, it is recommended to put the store into maintenance mode. Use the first button (the lock) in the Ultra Batch panel to close and re-open the store. We also highly recommend to back up the entire Miva Data directory containing the databases, before performing any operation on the data with MmDbDOC.

If you experience a runtime error in the store front or Admin, where the message speaks about a database index, copy the message, and after opening the mode "parse error" in the "databases" tab of Ultra Batch, paste the error into the displayed field. MmDbDOC will look up the databases and launch the repair interface.

In case you need to repair a database not listed, you can select the "3rd party dB" mode and enter the database and index paths manually to start the repair function.

Database viewer (demo and standard versions), or the database editor (PRO version) can be launched by clicking the requested database alias in the database list.

IMPORTANT: after repairing or editing any database, you have to pack both domain and store data in Admin!

A great diagnostic and database tool for developers, administrators and store owners. With Latu Developers' Tools, you can easily view the structure and content of any Miva Merchant database.

Details:

User-friendly Navigation û quickly scroll through records, screen by screen, select any record and display it's full content, or easily link to the first or last record in a database.

Comprehensive Search Functionality û find a keyword in any field of a database.

Customizable Options - choose to display all Miva Merchant databases or only those that are installed; time_t date values can also be displayed in a format that's more easy for we humans to read.

Reveal & View a Database

"reveal" & "view" links are provided to the left of each listed database. The "reveal" link displays the structure of the selected database, and the "view" link lists the selected database's records.

Easily Switch to Any Database

Databases can also be selected through a drop-down menu, which makes it easy to switch between databases.

Navigation tabs are also provided for easily linking back and forth between the "Reveal Database Structure" & "View Database Records" screens.

Viewing Database Records

When viewing a database's records û

Navigate through the database records by clicking on the "first", "prev", "next", or "last" links. Use the "prev" and "next" to navigate from screen to screen (20 records per screen). Go to the end of the database (the most recent record) by clicking on the "last" link. Return to the beginning of the database by clicking on the "first" link.

Select any record and it's full content can be displayed.

Searching Database Records

Search the database by keyword. All fields in the database are searched.

Refreshing Database Records

A convenient"Refresh Database Records" link is also provided for easily refreshing the database records currently listed on the screen. The position in the database and any search string that has been entered will be kept.

3 Base + Weight Less Offset - World Zone Weiland / Emporium Plus

The Base plus Weight Less Offset module by World Zone allows you to specify different shipping rates based on the method of shipping AND the weight of items AND the area of the world the item is being shipped to. The module evaluates the "ship to" country and only displays those methods and rates applicable to the destination. This prevents customers from selecting lower rates which may not be available for them.

This module is identical to the Base + Weight Shipping by World Zone , except that it has the added feature of subtracting a store owner specified weight from the total weight before applying the amount per unit calculation.

Example: If you set a base charge of $3.20 and amount per pound charge of 45 cents and an offset amount of 1 pound, a one pound package would cost $3.20. Without the offset, the charge would have been $3.65. After that offset, the normal calculation of amount per unit applies.

The store owner can specify a different offset for each method of shipping.

You can either use actual values to replace the base price or percent of price to be subtracted from the product base price. These price differentials are added directly in the admin interface under the product edit screen. You only apply these price differentials in the products that you want to use them. This module applies the price in your low,high, cost groupings. If you do not include a grouping at the single item level, it will use the method for pricing in your store. It onlyactivates if you include a low, high, cost grouping. For example: 6|10|12% 11|20|14% 21|999|16% The module only uses price groups when using the percentoff discount calculation. If you enter fixed prices for the quantity ranges, then price groups are ignored. If you are using cost method for your store (other than price groups), you will not be able to use the percentage discounting method. Instead, use the actual value method. If you are using another third party module which overrides prices in the basket and recomputes them using the price in the product record, youmay not be able to use this module. Other third party modules may notrecognize that it needs to apply the calculations in this module. The module recognizes identical products. To make this feature even more useful, youcan enter a starting and ending date for the sale so that itwill start and end automatically. For ease of entry, a flat file import module is included. You can put all product codes in the flat file or use an asterisk (*) and one lineof "rules" to apply the volume price to all products in thestore. Create a storewide sale, e.g. 10% off in seconds with a specific start and stop date. Then just as quickly removeall settings at your leisure after the sale. There is also a volume price export so you can quickly build your flat file, then edit or add to it. This is useful when you want to have a storewide sale on all products butretain volume prices on your regularly discounted items. Export the volume prices. Import your sale settings. Importyour volume discounts on the few you want to maintain at pre-sale prices. The module currently fully supports the mivasql configuration of MIVA Merchant 5. It also supports MySQL as long as load balancing has the data stored on the single MySQL server. This would be the case in most of the server setups. Membership SuperMod for Discounts Sales and Membership Rewards

The Membership SuperMod allows you to create Membership Groups in Miva Merchant giving the store owner ways to reward customers through Customer Appreciation Discounts, Sales and Points that can be redeemed for a discount. The storeowner can make various Membership Groups allowing the owner to offer different levels of Membership (and its benefits) depending on the “level of loyalty” of the customer. Customers can be automatically moved from one Membership Group to the next as their purchasing increases. The Membership SuperMod also provides facilities to create special time-based sales for all shoppers in the store.

20 Volume Pricing Weiland / Miva Central

Discount your product prices based on the number of items ordered of identical products, eg 1-3 = standard price, 4-6 = lower, etc.

The admin interface provides an easy to enter "from - to cost" format. You can literally have as many ranges as you want to type in. See the image below for example syntax. You can either use actual values or percent of price to be subtracted from the product price. These price differentials are added directly in the admin interface under the product edit screen. You only apply these price differentials in the products that you want to use them.

This module applies the price in your low, high, cost groupings. If you do not include a grouping at the single item level, it will use the method for pricing in your store. It only activates if you include a low, high, cost grouping. For example:
6|10|12%
11|20|14%
21|999|16%

The module only uses price groups when using the percent off discount calculation. If you enter fixed prices for the quantity ranges, then price groups are ignored. Keep in mind that the percent discounts will be over and above the discount already given if you are using price groups.

In the compiled version you can opt to not give the price group an additional discount above the volume pricing. You can even make all or some price groups not eligible for volume pricing and hide the table from them completely. Customers must be logged in to identify the price group they are in before the volume pricing module can disqualify them from volume pricing.

The percentage discounting method subtracts the percent discount from the base price. Base price does not include attribute prices. To apply the percentage, simply include the percent symbol (%) in the line. If you are using cost method for your store (other than price groups), you will not be able to use the percentage discounting method. Instead, use the actual value method.

If you are using another third party module which overrides prices in the basket and recomputes them using the price in the product record, you will not be able to use this module. Other third party modules will not recognize that it needs to apply the calculations in this module.

The module recognizes identical products. Hence different attributes will change the product enough that the discount won't apply. For example 3 red shirts and 6 blue shirts will not give the discount of 9 shirts. Rather, they'll get the discount rate of 3 for one of the line items and 6 for the other.

The module for the compiled version of merchant DOES have the ability to amalgamate quantities so in the example above as long as the product code is the same, all 9 items would get the volume discount for 9 items. You have the option for each product code to amalgamate quantities or treat varied attributes as different products.

You can optionally include a table on the product (PROD) and category (CTGY) screens displaying the rates as generated from the products' volume discount record. You can see an example of that with our best seller products. You can optionally have a quantity input in that table display. These options are configured through admin.

New in the compiled version is compatibility interface with the OpenUI Tokens and Viking Coders product template module. Place the table display on the product page so that it better fits your desired look. New configuration options added for the table display. Also, the ability to display the lowest price in place of the standard price when volume pricing effects the product, the store is using the OpenUI, the store is version 4.14 or higher, and there are no other 3rd party modules effecting the price display. This feature is useful if you want to have a sale on one or more items. Simply set the volume to 1 or more with a specific discount percentage and you have a sale with as low as display. You can use the token %product_price_f% to further highlight that with a strike thru. To make this feature even more useful, you can enter a starting and ending date for the sale so that it will start and end automatically. For ease of entry, a flat file import module is included. You can put all product codes in the flat file or use an asterisk (*) and one line of "rules" to apply the volume price to all products in the store. Create a storewide sale, e.g. 10% off in seconds with a specific start and stop date. Then just as quickly remove all settings at your leisure after the sale. There is also a volume price export so you can quickly build your flat file, then edit or add to it. This is useful when you want to have a storewide sale on all products but retain volume prices on your regularly discounted items. Export the volume prices. Import your sale settings. Import your volume discounts on the few you want to maintain at pre-sale prices. The volume price can also be used in our compiled Fast Data Feed module for froogle submissions and our Static Catalog Generator which creates static html pages for better search engine indexing.
